No, that Coq Au Vin won’t taste like one you had in Lyon, France. I came here to dine so French cuisine, but the menu looked like half-Italian. Confused.
But it didn’t matter too much at the end, because all food items I ordered were beyond edible. The food came out on time and the servers were attentive enough. I left the restaurant very satisfied and I will definitely revisit if I am getting hangry during my future visit in the town of Tenafly.

Brassiere in Tenafly, NJ. What a lovely lunch I had here the other day. I truly felt like I was in Paris-sitting outside, eating onion soup and enjoying the ambiance. This French American bistro has been serving its local customers for years. The food was delicious and Brassiere serves an amazing burger. Finally – a restaurant where great food doesn’t require a second mortgage! My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight with zero expectations. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. I ordered the French onion soup, which was excellent. My wife ordered the Brussell sprouts which were out of this world! They were light and flaky and flavorful. I was happy the wife was willing to share! For entrees the wife got the Tuna Nicoise, which she loved. I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich which had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The sandwich came with a small salad and the most delicious fries I’ve had in a while. Service was attentive but not overbearing. My water glass was consistantly filled. With appetizers and entrees out of the way, we had to try dessert. Sadly, this fell short of expectations. The lava cake was uninspired and the ice cream was crystalline. But we finished it anyway. Overall my wife and I were very pleased with the quality, food, and ambiance. I look forward to returning and trying the burgers. Definitely a new favorite.

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Tenafly. Salads are always on point. Schnitzel is the best I’ve ever had. Make sure to pay attention to the weekly specials because the chef always has a few tricks up his sleeve. Do not sleep on those apps. 🙂

Came to try the French Dip. Disappointed. Roast beef was tough. French fries tasted like cardboard. However, they do make decent eggs, salads and quiches – stick with that.

Gets really busy for lunch. They have a good menu and the food is always good. I’ve been here brunch, lunch, and dinner and it’s always great. I’ve never had a bad experience. The waitstaff is really nice and friendly.

My friend and I came in here for lunch. Eduardo, our host, showed us to an awesome seat in the window. The food was delicious and served right away. I must note that I ordered the broccoli cheddar quiche but Eduardo came out and told me that the broccoli didn’t look right and asked me if I wanted something else. I ordered the spinach and Swiss quiche instead. I also ordered the fries which were yummers!

This place used to have decent food and ok service but with owners out of sight thats no longer the case. The waiters make mistakes, charge you for them and refuse to amend the bill, the food is mediocre at best and the place needs a facelift urgently. It looks like a dump. Stay away!

Great food. It may not be just like in Paris, but it’s good. We return here cause it’s fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. Took away a star because once we walked up at 8pm on a Friday and they told us the kitchen is closing shortly. Restaurant is supposed to be open till 10pm. Turned away that one time but now we know.
