Brass is officially my favorite restaurant in New York! We arrived a little early, so they sat us at the bar while we waited for our table. The dirty blue cheese martini I ordered was the best I’ve ever had. The vibes were everything you want from a vibrant New York spot: soft lighting and live music (there is a grand piano at the center of the dining room). The service was amazing, our server Jack and everyone we encountered was extremely nice.
We wanted to try everything on the menu, and the dishes we chose were phenomenal.
I had an amazing time and I will come back over and over.

Food was pretty good, portion sizes were about half the size I would expect for the cost of the prix fixe menu. Would definitely recommend the beef options over the seafood ones, they did a good job with the steak and tartare. I also really enjoyed the desserts, especially the almond creme, which was a bit like a panna cotta with buttery sweet crunchy nuts on top and a port reduction sauce. Excellent service (albeit too much hovering) and great ambiance and beautiful decor. Live music as well for special occasions. It would take some small measure of desperation for me to come back.

Excellent service and a good atmosphere (depends on which table you got seated), featuring live jazz. The food was good overall, with seafood, especially the crab cake, standing out above the meat dishes. However, the duck was initially undercooked and required a re-sear.
The seating arrangement can be improved, as our tables were way too close to neighbors.. quite noisy when surrounded by loud diners.

Food was ok.. not really to our liking but the services were exceptional. The noise level isn’t the best it does get noisy. We were disappointed they ran out of crab cakes but then our serve Joseph gave us some other crab appetizers to make up for it. We unfortunate went on a super busy they when they are having a corporate event so our food took a pretty long time to come. Desserts was surprisingly pleasant. The brass cup was really good.

Beautiful spot with a seriously cool interior — very NYC energy from the moment you walk in. The live piano sets the tone without being too loud, just enough to give the whole place that classic city night feel. Came with friends, ordered a bunch of appetizers and cocktails, and everything was on point. Drinks were balanced, bites were great, and the vibe stayed fun all evening. Perfect spot to hang, sip something strong, and soak in the atmosphere. Definitely a spot we’ll be back to.

Great ambience—sat at the bar and ordered oysters, steak au poivre, and a mezcal old fashioned. The drink was perfectly balanced and the bartenders were super friendly. I asked for medium-rare but the steak was a bit over cooked, though still tasty—especially with that creamy sauce. A bit pricey for one person, but overall the food, drinks, and experience were solid.

Beautiful ambience, jazz was lovely – it did end a little after we were seated (around 10pm) but we really enjoyed everything we ate from the creamy mashed potatoes to the Ricotta Gnudi which is a MUST ❤️ I’d skip the broccolini next time

Overall a good meal, food was tasty, but portions rather small for the price. Had the Steak au Pouve and Spinach. They might consider including a side with the mains to make it a little bit more reasonable. If the steak came with frittes I think it would have been a better meal. That said, I wasnt super hungry so it worked out. Service was very good, and if anything the food came out too fast. Steak was perfectly cooked however. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and had the best time!
We had a 7:30 res and there was live music all night from when we got there. We put that it was our anniversary in our reservation so they congratulated us many times & brought our dessert out with a candle.
In terms of food and drink, the chicken breast, mussels, profiteroles and cocktails were just amazing. Everything came out super fast too. Our server was Matthew and he was very attentive and made sure we had the best time! Will be back 🙂
( Only comment is there are barely any vegetarian options and the portions aren’t very big – just some things to be aware of )
