Although this cafe was well rated, we did not have that type of experience. Waitstaff was inattentive and more interested talking to each other or filling small containers with what I assumed was gravy, than waiting on their tables. The kitchen was exceptionally slow, and they weren’t busy, and the food was just ok. The portion sizes on the hit sandwiches were very large.
I had the hot pork cutlet sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy. The pork was bland. The gravy was as well, it needed salt and pepper. The pork was hot, the gravy was warm and the mashed potatoes were cold and chunky.
My wife had the chicken fried steak sandwich with onion rings. She said the sandwich was tasteless and not something she would order again. The onion rings were excellent.
The atmosphere was typical small cafe. Overall it was a disappointing meal but the staff did try to make it right by giving a 50% discount on the hit pork sandwich.
The chicken fried steak is the one on our list to order. Delicious and with great portions.
Has never disappointed.
Definitely worth it , to go out of your way to dine in. On my busy days I call my order in and never had issues. Very convenient.
The bad: The sausage and bacon breakfast sandwich had a tiny sausage patty was the size of a large coin and didn’t cover much of the sandwich. There would have to be at least 3 of them to get sausage in every bite.
We asked for extra crispy hashbrowns and, while they were cooked through, the hashbrowns were definitely soft and not crispy.
The chicken fried steak is huge, but it lacked seasoning and was not the usual pounded out, crispy steak one usually expects. It was more like a large burger patty.
I would come here for coffee and dessert, but the breakfast items were disappointing.
