My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Bozu Japanese Restaurant and can’t wait to go back. The cozy izakaya atmosphere and open kitchen make the experience feel authentic and welcoming. We ordered several items from the menu and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared-clearly made with quality ingredients.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Bozu offers an excellent balance of authenticity, quality, and value. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular. Highly recommended!

We had good experience with food and service. We liked the stingray fin, interesting chewy texture and octopus fries was with Japanese seasoning! Love it . Make reservations!

This is my first time here but my friend who live in Chinatown and Kauaʻi always meet here when they have time to hang out. Lot of Izakaya menu and the dish I like the most is Grilled stingray (Eihire) which refers to the dried and lightly grilled fin of the stingray, typically served with Japanese mayonnaise, shichimi-pepper. I never try this dish before, and I couldn’t find this menu in NYC. All food is super fresh and good quality; the restaurant is busy all the time. Great food, good service and great option.

I would easily recommend a lot of things on the menu but would highlight the Sashimi and the grilled sea bass. The environment is also very comforting with a cozy vibe and very friendly people

We ordered a sushi roll and after an hour wait it still hasnt arrived. Waitress keeps telling us it will come in a few min. Finally we tell her we dont want it anymore if they havent started on it and she took it off the bill – meaning an hour after we ordered it wasnt even in the process of being made

Also they charged us $6 for a quarter of a diced tomata and called it tomato ohitashi. Pics below of what we got vs what the dish actually looks like. What a rip off

Grateful for a late night, last minute seating for a table of five! The hero meals for us were the watercress and beef salad, and the garlic beef. Super fresh food and flavours.

Wow!! Next to Japan, this has been the best sushi we’ve had in our lives! The restaurant doesn’t look like much outside, and at first glance I wasn’t excited by the menu, but as soon as I saw the food I was hooked, and as soon as I tasted my first bite, I knew this was something special. The fish is incredibly fresh and high quality, the presentation is beautiful, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Sadly these days it can be difficult to encounter good service, but not at Bozu! Everyone was so friendly, and sitting at the bar is a fun experience (plus you get your food handed directly to you, which is pretty special!) I highly recommend this place and we will be returning! Actually we already made another reservation for tomorrow! ❤️ the tuna tartare with taro chips is my favorite!

Recommended from a local. One of the few times I have visited a Japanese restaurant and didn’t have sushi and the reason for that is because it had so many unique dishes that normal sushi places don’t have. Crispy squid, papaya salad, lamb chops, chicken katsu w/eggplant, and spaghetti (that’s right! Japanese style) and they were all distinct and unique in flavor. Every bite was delicious and pleasing to the palette from beginning to end. I did however notice the couple who were next to me (who were locals) saw what we were having and decided to order the same and I couldn’t help but notice the amount of food they received for the exact same dishes were much bigger than mine. I get that they provide for their locals and I’m not mad at all about that. What I loved was that the whole staff greeted and said goodbye to their guests, spoke and worked together in harmony, and took their passion and professionalism for their job to the next level. If you’re looking for an excellent Japanese restaurant, you need to visit this place!

Delicious authentic Japanese place. We sat at the bar. First time trying monkfish liver (great), jellyfish (not great). Sashimi was amazing. Kyoto beer.
