Our Pearl café is our flagship location, offering espresso drinks, coffees, and teas. This is also home to our bakery, providing a selection of French inspired pastries. We have recently added on to our space, to include a few breakfast options and lunch sandwiches. Founded in 2010, Boxcar Coffee Roasters has been dedicated to roasting & brewing exceptional coffee in Boulder. The Pearl St. cafe was opened in 2011, as a place to share our coffee and build connections with the community.

Best cinnamon roll I’ve tried in Boulder, and I’ve tried many (Great Harvest, Walnut Cafe, Doug’s Diner, Moxie). It’s croissant dough, so it’s not as fluffy and doughy as a classic cinnamon roll, but it’s so buttery and delicious. The cream cheese frosting is really well done too.

Boxcar is hands-down the best coffee shop ever. Everything on the menu is phenomenal—crafted with care and full of flavor. The canele are a show stopper – from my 6 yr old that has been obsessed with them since he was 2 yrs old. The service is always exceptional; the staff make every visit feel special. My drink was really good. The coffee was strong and fresh. My colleague purchased the tea, which is brewed to order. They were a bit busy in the morning but that is expected. However, they did move pretty quickly. The staff wasn’t the friendliest, but I would return for the coffee when in town.

Delicious coffee and bakery, friendly staff, and quaint atmosphere rightly describes Boxcar Coffee. I enjoy everything on the menu and frequently indulge in a mocha, brown butter oatmeal raisin cookie, and frittatas. The coffee is excellent and the food items are always fresh, quality and delicious. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Street parking. Boxcar Coffee is definitely a must when in Boulder.

I cannot recommend boxcar enough!! Although their food and coffee is truly incredible (i recommend the avocado toast and hot matcha), what makes boxcar so special is truly their employees. I have come into boxcar on some of my hardest days, and I always end up leaving with a giant smile on my face. The employees are genuinely a blessing, I wish I had the right words to express how much gratitude I feel for this business and for them, but you’ll just have to see the hype for yourself!! Best coffee shop in boulder hands down, thank you to everyone at boxcar for always leaving me with a positive impact 🙂

I was a little disappointed by this place based off the reviews. I thought this place was going to be so good. The pastry was in fact delicious, I split the sweet danish with a friend. However, I did not care for the coffee. It was very bitter and lacked flavor. We got the S’mores and it had no chocolate flavor whatsoever. The homemade marshmallow on it was initially good, but after the first couple bites it had a weird after taste. I would however come again for the pastries, just not the coffee.
