I booked the Box Cafe for my Halloween party turned wedding and I had the most amazing experience with Linda (the venue owner). Not only did she give us a very generous discount, she also offered to decorate for us since we had so much going on that day, for a very reasonable price. She spoke to me several times throughout the planning, worked with me, and made sure my perfect wedding came to life. She was incredible every step of the way and I would book this place a thousand more times for an experience like this! She decorated the place BEAUTIFULLY and the place is absolutely lovely. I cannot say enough about my incredible experience with this venue and I will definitely be back for dinner and any time I have an event. She made everything smooth and seamless for a reasonable price! Book it!!! You will NOT regret!

We live in Florida, but our sons live in JC. So far we have held two events at the Box Cafe–a baby shower, and an engagement dinner. Both were fantastic! Linda and Sean are great to work with as far as menus, setup, decorations, and just personalizing the event to make it your own. The food is always amazing (especially the bread!) and reasonably priced. We love the vibe here, so cozy and intimate. So happy we found this hidden gem. We will definitely be back again and again.

Box Cafe is a hidden gem! We had an amazing, intimate dining experience at this gorgeously designed cafe. The hospitality was first-rate, and the food was delicious. My girlfriend had salmon cooked over a blood orange, which she said was her favorite salmon of all time! I had the beef filet, which was incredibly tasty and perfectly cooked. All of the sides – from the carrots to the potatoes to the corn – were amazing. We also had two rounds of bread toasted to perfection, and a rich dark chocolate cake for dessert.
We will definitely be going back and trying out the breakfast options! You need to check this place out, especially if you’re looking for an intimate, French-inspired dinner. 10/10. Oh, and it’s BYOB!

Our daughter, Rachel and her partner, Antoine, live just a few doors away from this wonderful restaurant. It has a delightful and cozy atmosphere, with an eclectic and tasteful decor. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the host was incredibly kind. It was easily our top choice during our week-long stay, and we highly recommend it to others.

We stopped by here after my brother’s wedding ceremony to have a coffee but the atmosphere and ambiance are amazing at this place, their hospitality is on another level. We have taken lots of pictures together. Coffee is really good as well. 10/10, definitely worth it.

When you talk about the best burgers in JC, Box Cafe has to be in the conversation. You wouldn’t think it since not many people know about this place and it’s really a shame.
I finally had the chance to try the burger recently and had to stop by a second time in a week to confirm. It really is that good. From the quality of the patty, cheese, and bread, to the way it’s cooked, seasoning, and sauces – it checks all the boxes in the best way. Everything works so well together and you can taste the love and care.
Seriously try it out. Even the salad it comes with is great. I’m looking forward to trying out their other stuff but it’s gonna be really hard not to get the burger every time.
PS I hear they’ll be trying out burger specialties for takeout on Thursday evenings. Will be looking forward to this!

We found this place on google and had to check it out. The food was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly, and the ambience tied everything together. We ordered the croque monsieur, avocado toast, and dark chocolate cafe. Everything tasted homemade. We can’t wait to go back next weekend!

Came here in the evening to see live music and ordered the French onion soup. The French onion soup is out of this world. Probably the best I have ever had and I order this every where I go (including France). The broth and the bread could not have been better. The service was great despite it being busy. Linda was so hospitable and friendly. Also was so pleasantly surprised to find out I could order an affogato here. Lastly, the chocolate cake was delicious. So glad to discover this place.. Definitely will be back.
