The old fashioned was GREAT! The crab cake and shrimp cocktail were average. The crab cake didn’t have any lump crab meat and had two shells in it. The wedge salad was good, while the lardons were too sweet for me. The tomahawk steak for 2 ($110) was a beauty and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, it was under seasoned and the staff had difficulty cutting the steak. Leaving the final presentation for us very lacking (see image).
I love the concept and think the restaurant will be a great addition to our restaurant scene if they tighten up a few of the food issues.
We read reviews beforehand and followed some advice: we started with the Lobster Mac as our appetizer and it did not disappoint!
Steaks are cooked perfectly.
We had the au gratin potatoes and Brussels – so good!
Highly recommend the Bowdies Old Fashioned.
We started with the Lobster Mac. It included a whole lobster tail that was cut tableside and served on top of the mac and cheese.
For our main we split the bone-in Filet and potatoes au gratin. The steak was cooked perfectly and sliced to our liking tableside.
On the way to the bathroom, you pass through a showroom which housed neat vehicles that were part of the GRP collection. This was a neat addition to the nice meal we shared.
For dessert, Tom recommended the brownie or the beignets and we decided on the beignets. They were hot, airy, and delicious! I’d highly recommend them.
Overall, I would recommend Bowdies for a nice dinner out on the town. Reservations are recommended and are easily made on OpenTable!
We started with the prime tartare, which was very tasty, although the pairing with the chips wasn’t our favorite. We mentioned it as a suggestion, and both Abby B and the team received it with complete openness and professionalism something we truly appreciated. Then we enjoyed some delicious steaks, perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
For dessert, the crème brûlée was quite good, and although the first slice of carrot cake didn’t quite convince us, the manager personally came to our table with another piece, kindly explaining the difference a thoughtful gesture that showed genuine attention to detail. That second slice was very good.
Overall, it was a very positive experience. The food, service, and atmosphere make it a place worth returning to. Highly recommended.
We had the crab cake to start and let me tell you it was 95% crab meat. Best crab cake l’ve ever had. And the sauce!! Mmm I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. The seasoning and char on the outside was amazing! My husband got the cowboy ribeye and loved every bite.
If you’re looking for a top-notch steakhouse with incredible food and service, Bowdies is a must.
