Watched the Philly marathon and grabbed brunch. Sweet & savory options. My kiddo liked their hot chocolate. His scrambled egg was well done, the way we like it. I would recommend the cinnamon swirl pancakes. I actually didn’t need as much vanilla cream as was on it but the caramel sauce was great and the pancakes were perfect crispy edges while fluffy center. More food than the two of us could finish. Would recommend. There is a parking lot (pay), bike rack, and it is near the Schuykill water front trail.

Ti Ti was our server and she was very attentive. Food took very long to come out. Steak and eggs were okay, seasoned but the steak was very fatty and overcooked. Potatoes weren’t good at all, came out cold and mushy. Fried chicken had a very good flavor and fish was fried perfectly. Loved the French toast & our N/A drinks were fresh and tasty

When I first arrived I waited for about eight minutes to be seated before actually having to call someone over to be seated. Then the hostess didn’t know where to seat me. I was finally seated and took a look at the menu. The hostess returned ten minutes after and asked if my waiter had assisted me as yet and my response was no. She said oh she’s probably busy let me check with her, ten minutes later a gentleman says that he is my server and asked what I would like. I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. On the menu it stated that the pancakes are $11 with and additional $3 if you add meat and eggs. The food was good. But once I received the bill my total was $19.25. I asked why the bill did not match what was listed on the menu. I was told it was an up charge. I explained to the waiter that going forward please clarify this with your customers so that there are no conflicts. He stated he would talk to the owner about updating the paper menus.

I had breakfast here today (11/20/25) and the experience was good overall. The food was okay—nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable. The service, however, was very good. The staff was attentive and friendly, which made the visit pleasant. Worth a stop if you’re in the area and looking for a simple, reliable breakfast spot.

First time ever dining here but definitely will return. It’s a nice spot. Loved the art on the walls. It was very cute and cozy. Food was delicious and fresh. I loved that they ask if you want your fish fried hard. Cheese melted soon as i stirred the grits. Fish was seasoned and crispy. Cornbread was good and not all sweet like some make at times. I like my cornbread to taste like cornbread not cake. My server/host Bryan was absolutely amazing. From the moment i walked in until i left he was cheerful , attentive, and very polite. He made suggestions to the menu. His energy was just all around happy and it made stopping in worth while. He definitely enjoys what he does. He’s a true gem! Would go back on the customer service alone!

Save yourself and eat somewhere with decent food and service. Came in at 10:51am & took 15-20 minutes to get greeted. Yes we asked to move seats from the terribly placed table in front of the front door, to a table mid center of the restaurant. The servers and staff were nice but not attentive. Ordered coffee & it was 70% almond milk, 30% coffee. Fine, easy correction. I then asked for a replacement of just black coffee & almond milk on the side. The coffee was so stale tasting & clearly was not made fresh!! Tasted like coffee that was stored in the fridge a day or three ago. Finally got our food after 45 minutes (mind you… the restaurant is NOT busy it’s Memorial Day weekend everyone is at the shore!!!) & the food was MID. My shrimp & grits was DROWNING in oil. I don’t know how anyone finds this appetizing. I prefer my arteries unclogged please. My boyfriend got the big steak omelet and the menu STATES that it COMES WITH CHEDDAR, ONIONS, and PEPPERS. Why did we get charged on our bill for cheese…onions…& peppers…??? The potatoes were dry and unseasoned. Very undercooked and hard… the steak was also dry! The only saving grace was the egg. For my dish, the only bearable aspect was the shrimp. Very good shrimp! To make matters worse, we ordered red velvet PANCAKES & was brought out waffles (after waiting 40+ minutes in general for food) Our server luckily & surprisingly noticed that & was quick to correct that. My thing that really pissed me off is that gratuity is FORCED on $80 or more. Our bill was forced to $77 (from charges that shouldn’t be there bc they were included in our dish!!!) and they FORCED GRATUITY ON OUR CHECK!!! This place was NOT worth $98 & they should be ashamed of themselves. It’s so hard to support black businesses when you get scammed every time you do. Could’ve spent my $98 literally anywhere else!!

Boutique River Falls stands out as a shining example of a thriving, vibrant, Black-owned business. The food is simply sublime, bursting with flavor and crafted with care, making each dish a delightful experience for the palate. Our waiter, Brian, was an absolute gem—his warmth and humor created an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The restaurant accommodates large parties with ease and thoughtfully caters to various needs. The artwork and decor reflect an authentic representation of the Black community, adding a rich cultural dimension that enhances the dining experience.

The eggs benedict were good but the waffles and chicken was a little weird and hard to eat. Service was slow and hard to get to talk to the waitress.

Im such a freakin foodie ♀️ I try a different restaurant every weekend; and this one, was on the list:) Parking wasn’t too bad. There’s on the street parking; and a parking lot across the street(parking authority I believe). Upon arrival; I was told it was a 30-45 min wait. To which; wasn’t so much of a problem for me. Once seated I waited another 20 for my server. Then another 20 minutes for our drinks. And not to mention; another 20 minutes for our order to be taken ♀️ During the time; another couple (who had came in a whole 45mins after us) was seated, gotten their drinks, and placed their order:( How rude By the time our food came out; that other couple, was done and leaving However; the food was really good The grits were watery(didn’t even eat them); and I ordered fish&grits ♀️ The drinks were a little overpriced if you ask me($7 for a peach tea in a regular size glass w/peaches in it). It was tasty; nothing special. Kind of syrupy too:/ Would I come here again; maybe $118 for 2. Gratuity included to which I hate. Did that server deserve a $18 tip; NO!!! But hey; it was an experience ♀️
