We stopped on a snowy winter evening and this is truly one of the most special little spots we’ve had the pleasure of eating at. The food is amazing and the small restaurant is very cozy and unique. This is a one man operation, at least when we were there, so be patient and it will be rewarded with some of the best food you will have in Burlington.

We had a wonderful time at Bourbon Street LLC. The restaurant is charming, with cute decor and lovely music. Richard is a fantastic host. He is courteous and quick, and the portions are very generous. The food was absolutely delicious; the frog legs were tender, our gumbo was rich and flavorful, and our jambalaya and duck ragoût were perfect comfort foods. We finished off with a slice of Kentucky bourbon pecan pie, and it was a perfect end to a perfect meal. Visit Richard’s place for an excellent experience. We will be back soon!

We were finally able to get a reservation at this wonderful little restaurant.
The chef/owner/waiter served us spicy frog legs, tasty gator gumbo, cornbread, sausage, jambalaya, and maple pecan pie. Everything is made to order, perfectly spiced, and served hot. I look forward to returning and trying other dishes like the blackened catfish and po boys.
It is BYOB and in the winter it is a little chilly, dress on the warmer side and you will be fine.

It’s a one-man show, and the owner/chef seems passionate about his food. I had a seafood Jambalaya. The portion size is good and it was delicious. The price is reasonable compared to most of the other places around the area.

Another perfect meal. Six of us all had different dishes and covered most of the menu. It was all excellent. Big portions result in leftovers to go home with. It is amazing the the owner does everything himself and can create these dishes and make you feel so welcome. Reservations are key – with a one mas show he had to turn away customers even though there were only two parties in the restaurant. I love how he takes the time to open your wine bottles even though it is BYOB. My favorite is the crab cakes. Can’t wait to go back.

We LOVED this place! Being from New Orleans I was surprised at how authentic and nostalgic the atmosphere felt. Remarkably quick and attentive service, especially for a one man operation! We especially loved the collards, pork cracklins, blackened catfish, and seafood jambalaya. We’ll be back for sure!!

Great locally owned restaurant. A one-man show who cooks, cleans, waits table, etc.
Ordered the gumbo, crab cakes, etouffee, jambalaya, and duck ragout.
Everything was amazing, with my favorite being the etouffee. The duck ragout was also very good with a very intense and concentrated duck flavor. Absolute must visit when in Burlington. Would definitely recommend and would come back next time.
Atmosphere itself was nice and cozy, we had the place to ourselves. Reservations highly recommended.

My husband and I went for the first time last Saturday. We showed up just after 8pm and even though we were the only ones there, the restaurant definitely wasn’t lacking in atmosphere – we felt like we were instantly transported to the bayou. Richard is a one-man show and the food was phenomenal. I’m still thinking about the pork cracklins and étouffée a week later. Looking forward to going back!

We stumbled on this little place last night, and it was one of those super rare finds that you always remember. We had no idea it was run by just one person until we arrived…the whole situation is extremely impressive. Richard is an amazing chef, but then also amazing at everything else he does. You can tell the place was decorated with a very specific feel and vibe in mind, and it’s perfect. The lighting and decor make this place feel very personal and cozy, like you’ve been invited over to a friend’s house for dinner. Don’t mistake cozy for too casual- it is also so elegant and beautiful. The food is top notch. 100% the best crab cakes I’ve had. We will be making a trip back just for reservations here.

I was traveling for work and came here based off good reviews. It is a one man show, the same person serving is cooking the food. The service and food were fine.
P.s – I noticed the sign on the way out (but not when entering ..I may have missed it or it wasn’t out up yet as it was small) “reservations only”. There were only 2 tables there when I visited so if you want to dine here I think you ‘must’ make reservations.
