Finally made it here for supper and it definitely lived up to the hype as some of the best Thai food in the city. We’ve been to many other places like Syphay and Noi Thai and prefer this place. The drunken noodles were amazing – the way the thick rice noodles were charred a bit to have some crispy bits along side the chewiness and the delicious sauce was outstanding. The cashew chicken dish here was also the best I’ve had in Edmonton. 10/10

Boualouang Laos & Thai Cuisine is a true gem in Edmonton’s Chinatown! I’ve been craving authentic Southeast Asian flavors, and this family-run spot delivered beyond expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home.
We started with the zesty papaya salad – perfectly spicy and refreshing – followed by the aromatic Tom Yum soup that had just the right balance of lemongrass, lime, and heat. The green curry was creamy, flavorful, and packed with fresh veggies and tender chicken, while the Pad Thai was spot-on: tangy, nutty, and loaded with shrimp. We finished with mango sticky rice for dessert, which was sweet, sticky perfection.
Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and truly authentic – like a trip to Thailand and Laos without leaving the city. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the service was attentive even on a busy night. I’ve tried many Thai places in Edmonton, but Boualouang stands out as the top choice. Highly recommend – we’ll be back soon!

Outstanding food and excellent service! The food was fresh, very flavourful and delicious. Very generous portions. We learned from the owner/chef that all of the sauces are made in the restaurant. Best Tom Yum soup we’ve had. Green curry chicken and drunken noodles with shrimp were wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Big portions, red curry beef was good, phad Tai chicken was good. Vegetable spring roll was too much wrap to stuffing ratio. Could double the stuffing and give less spring rolls. Thai ice tea was refreshing when 32 degrees outside.

This place, used to be the spot for lunch and it still is but with the new ownership – we found the servings aren’t as generous anymore unlike before.. the flavors might have changed just a tiny bit as well but it’s noticeable.
I get that with taking over an existing business you want your ROI as soon as possible but how this place was shouldn’t be changed as people like value and nostalgia and though some of the dishes are still there, it’s hard to pinpoint what’s missing..
Regardless still a great restaurant to go to. Can’t go wrong. One of the few spots left that can satisfy your taste buds.

The food here is phenomenal. We got the dressed up mama noodles and sweet peanut curry. It was both delicious. Highly recommend. I plan to come back everytime I’m in Edmonton.

Wowww, the food was so yummy and authentic. The portions were so generous. Prices are really reasonable too. The service was very kind, respectful, and efficient. This place deserves more recognition and hype. The only recommendation is to add some music to add to the ambiance. Would definitely come back. Highly recommend the Pad Ped, Onion Cake, Gold Bags, Calamari, Thai Tea, and Vietnamese Coffee. If you like spicy, the Drunken Noodles. Also, they are considerate of the allergies for peanuts and sesame.

This is my first time here.
I had the lunch curry entree. Chicken, red sauce, coconut rice, spring rolls.
Food was all tasty.
It was empty in there so the service is pretty fast.
So, overall it was as good. Although I’m not sure it will become my favorite Thai restaurant.

This place has the best Tom Yum in Edmonton. I lived in Bangkok for 10 years, and remember well what original Tom Yum tastes like – this place has it! The owner said they cook it for 10 hours to achieve that to that authentic thick concentrated taste. The ambiance and service is good too. The only disadvantage is probably no nice places to park… But this is what Chinatown is!

The place was with many people, in the corner any other place was empty. And we get a really nice surprise there. The food was big amount, big flavor and a decent price. The home tea delicious. The service perfect. We had never tried before this kind of food and now we prefer it over Chinese.
