I would give a a zero if I could. Food is terrible no flavor. Tried to choke it down was a no go. Waitress asked if I wanted a to go box, seeing It was barley touched did not ask if anything was wrong. Will not be back.

Rice and beans were from the day before. Kraft cheese instead of authentic Mexican chichuaha cheese. Salsa tastes like it’s from a jar. Not authentic. Went in undercover to review this place. Service and people were nice. Food wasn’t.

This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant of all time, and I’m so glad they didn’t choose to name it a cantina like so many other Mexican restaurants. Their staff is professional, they’re well managed and well structured. Their operations flow seamlessly and the food is on your table FAST. The food is always great. The fried items are always perfectly crispy and never over cooked or soggy. Drinks are great too, and they’ll take the alcohol out of most drinks if you ask, which is great for me because my body isn’t what it used to be and one drink with this much fried food puts me in a miserable state. Anyways, I’ve never been to the other Botanas and I don’t have any plans to, this one leaves nothing to be desired. Prices are good and it doesn’t break the wallet. Oh, and the murals on the wall are GORGEOUS, absolutely gorgeous. And they always decorate to be festive, as well as celebrating Packers game days!

Enchiladas verdes ground beef was pretty solid. A bit light on the verde though. I am a little sad that my to go order didn’t come with a little bag of complentary chips, I would have liked to test them out though. Guess I should have ordered a side of chips and salsa. My enchiladas came with a small side of red sauce, I don’t know if that’s their default salsa or not, it was very mild.

Excellent outdoor spot. The service was a bit disappointing, the waiters, or at least the one who served me, although they relaxed a bit later.
The food was awful. I don’t recommend it. The only thing I liked was the chicken fajitas, but there are other places that cost a little less and still have the same flavor.

Botanos II has been one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. The last two times we were there, we were so disappointed. The quality of our food deteriorated. Our nachos were mostly beans, hardly any ground beef and limited cheese. And the price went up considerably.
Both times the temperature inside was very cold and our food cooled off so fast. Had to eat with our coats on. So very disappointing.
Kind of a sign of the times-prices go up and quality goes down.

This food is BLAND! NO flavor at all. The chips, salsa, and queso were disgusting- nooooooo flavor whatsoever! NONE. Had chicken and steak fajitas – the meat was touch and chewy and like another review stated beans were dry and hard to swallow. If you want authentic Mexican this is NOT the place. Yuk if I was allowed to choose zero stars, I would have. It doesn’t deserve the one star it made me select.

Excellent Mexican restaurant on Milwaukee’s south side. I highly recommend visiting this establishment.
We visited Friday, October 9 about 8pm. We had a large party of 11 and reservations are not taken so we went later in the evening to ensure we could get seated.
Our server was awesome! She was very attentive and hospitable. We couldn’t ask for better service. Our dinner was excellent as well. The portions are large and very tasty.
So if you are looking for great service and Mexican food, give Botanas II a try.
