Border Grill was founded in 1997 with the goal of bringing a fresher, healthier alternative to the restaurant spectrum in Marquette. Clearly, the market was ready for “real” food in our fast-casual” format, as we have grown to four locations serving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is very gratifying for all of us at Border Grill to hear the passion that our guests have about our restaurants.

I haven’t been here in close to 4 years. I was super excited that go, but when I got home to eat I realized they forgot a few things, no biggie, I can deal. But when my food was this tiny little portion of under cooked rice and kinda blah everything else, I’ve accepted it. Border Grill is no longer the great place it used to be. Sorry guys. You’ll have to step it up a bit for this average gal. I I hope you do! Good luck to ya!

It’s so hard for me to eat at places like this because I honestly compare them all to chipotle, which is my favorite fast Mexican. The food here was just okay. The salsa tasted like fresh puréed tomatoes, and reminded me more of pasta sauce. The tacos order came with one taco, which was fine. The chicken was not seasoned with anything special. My boyfriend said he liked his bowl. We got a side of queso and it was good. Pretty sure it was velveta cheese.

First time ever going to the restaurant, and I must say, the food is absolutely great . The service was awesome. I told the cashier that I had never been to the restaurant, that it is my first time going, and she helped me through the menu and getting my order right. The atmosphere was also great, not too loud, and the outside part of the restaurant was great. We also ate outside of the restaurant.

Disappointed. I ordered a chicken gourmet burrito with brown rice, what I received was a burrito with literally just chicken and LIME rice in it. I just don’t know how you can mess it up that bad. Very inconsistent. The lack of guac, salsa, and cheese on my burrito was very depressing and sad. The border salsa is fire though I’ll give them that

We had a large group of 6 people. We were not greeted aponarriving. The staff stood at the end of the counter talking.
The food was just not worth it. The salsa is orange and tastes like Campbell’s tomato soup. The kids did not enjoy anything except the chips.

No matter the location you choose, Border Grill offers a clean friendly environment and fresh tasty choices. Friendly staff who seem to take pride in their Jobs. Whitefish tacos are always amazing as are the border bowls and burritos. Must try the border sauce if you stop in. Also recommend the basmaic salad with steak and the Cesar wrap. The new summer strawberry salad is excellent. Any local will name this place as a stand out and favorite, especially in the Neguanee restaurant as there aren’t a plethora of options.
