Bringing Flavor & Fun to the U.P.! Burritos, quesadillas, salads, nachos, & tacos. Border Grill was founded in 1997 with the goal of bringing a fresher, healthier alternative to the restaurant spectrum in Marquette. Clearly, the market was ready for “real” food in our fast-casual” format, as we have grown to four locations serving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is very gratifying for all of us at Border Grill to hear the passion that our guests have about our restaurants.

No frills Mexican setting with great view of the Lake Superior. The whitefish bowl with Verde salsa was delicious. Order at counter and they bring food to table.

Nice place to eat with a beautiful view of the lake! I highly recommend the whitefish tacos and the street corn shrimp tacos. It’s hard to pick a favorite between the two! One big advantage to this place in the summer is that they have their own parking lot and indoor seating available with air-conditioning! Of course if you prefer to sit outside and watch the harbor you can do that as well.

One of the most friendliest services I have ever seen was at this restaurant while ordering food. The employees were super friendly and spent quite a bit of time with us explaining the ingredients in the food. We were a party of 11 people (mostly vegetarian) and some had specific allergies. Great customer service. I especially liked the different spice levels shown on the menu for the different sauces available. The food (Veggie burrito and veg bowl) was in between average and really good, hence, the reason for the 4-star instead of the five.

The food quality was the same as fast food. Our family was not impressed with the flavor or portions. Way over priced for such small portions and lacks flavors. We will not be back.

Excellent Whitefish Burrito Bowls and Chicken Fajitas. Whitefish was fresh on the grill…. She even joked about having to holler the order to throw it on. Salsa sauce was unique and excellent. In fact, as the buzzer went off, the young lady was standing in front of us with the food. Great service and will definitely stop by again in our next trip to the Upper Peninsula. Yum yum!
If you guys ever add desserts to the menu, I would love to order them!
The view from the patio was exceptional and we could also hear live music from the bar on the beach.

Amazing burritos. Worth opting for burrito >> bowl if you’re on the fence. Cute patio and would totally sit there on a warmer day. It’s an order at the counter restaurant but fast, friendly and efficient. Also has fun drink options and tons of salsa options. Adding the crispy jalapeños is a must. Prices may be a little high for the area but the food was worth it.

So it’s really not the best place and we probably didn’t order the right stuff but nothing was that great. Except the view. That’s how we picked it. We wanted a drink and a view and a snack. Dog Friendly patio. I got the chips and salsa and it was a weird salsa. Carrot based? I’m still not sure. Guacamole was decent.The drink selection was limited. Order at counter and they bring it to table. Service was friendly.

The Border Tacos with nachos were plain and had no flavor. However my husband had a chicken bowl and said it was good. Nice view on the patio of a small marina on Lake Superior. Probably wouldn’t stop again if this is a chain.

We had Whitefish tacos and Whitefish fajita tacos. They were huge portions and very tasty. Those who say it’s pricey for what you get, where are you eating these days? We had dinner for 2 for $35 including tip and had some leftovers. The view from the deck is lovely. The young man who took my order was very conscientious, helpful, and kind.
Was it as good as fish tacos in a Mexican fishing village? No, but I am in the UP.
