We really enjoyed our drinks. We tried a few seasonal options along with their espresso martini, which was especially good. All of the drinks were solid, and the bartender was very nice and attentive.
We ordered several appetizers: calamari, popcorn chicken (a special), avocado fries, and Brussels sprouts. The apps were very hit or miss. The Brussels sprouts and avocado fries were great. They were cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. The calamari, however, was basic and pretty flavorless, plus a bit rubbery. The popcorn chicken tasted like it came straight out of a bag of Tyson chicken, heavily salted and served. I was very underwhelmed, especially given the prices.
Based on this visit and past experiences where the food has also been inconsistent, I’d probably only come back for drinks, and even then, only during happy hour.
I followed his advice and was not disappointed! Do not judge the book by its cover. It looks plain and unassuming on the outside and took me a few seconds to spot it. (No pic, as I was distracted by my new car!) The inside was nicely appointed. Perhaps too many fake flowers, but maybe not. They seemed to work and add color.
I went at 4 pm on a Saturday, so between lunch and dinner. There were people, but no crowds or noise.
All I wanted was a good burger. And I got it! I ordered the House Burger: (6 oz?) Marbled Wagyu Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Bacon, Red Onion, Toasted Brioche, and Special Burger Sauce on the side. (Truthfully, I included all that for your benefit. I only wanted the burger, bacon, and bun with ketchup on the side.) It was delicious! I did manage to snap a pic before I descended upon it like a ravenous Serengeti carnivore… with a modicum of decorum so as not to scare the other guests.
The service was fast and friendly and the prices reasonable. This is the sort of place I would like to return to in order to try some of their finer dishes!
Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and was struggling with other tables as well. We ordered an app along with our main dinning experience. A cocktail while we waited, again very loud so it was difficult to talk. Our main meal came out and we had to remind the waiter that the app had not come out.
The food presentation was good but frankly was complacent. Not anything that I would rave about. I would come back if I was asked out to meet friends but not somewhere I would go back intentionally. For a location that appears high end I would have expected more.
Definitely my favorite place in the area
The food was very good and well cooked, you could see the details the chef put into the plate.
The atmosphere was very good. 10 out of 10. Very cozy, intimate, yet fun!
The service was also good, genuine, conventional, but not invasive. Staff seemed happy to be at work!
Bora was decorated beautifully for Christmas. I got the short ribs which was a delicious full meal. My husband got the shrimp and crab dish. It was delicious however it was not enough food, only four shrimp and not much fettuccine. It would be a better value if they offered a salad or gave you more fettuccine with it. If his portion was bigger or it came with a salad, I would’ve given Bora five stars.
