I rarely eat at places in this price range because my budget is usually tight, but it felt fully worth it. the service was solid.
when I made the reservation, I requested a table away from noise because one of our guests is autistic and sensitive to sound. the request wasn’t addressed, but I did notice a quieter section away from the music and large parties. maybe there just weren’t other tables available.
the atmosphere is nice, cool décor. fancy enough to feel special without crossing into bougie territory. I would definitely come back.
The food was good except for my well done steak had a lot of pink inside and very chewy so make sure you chew it well so you don’t choke lol.
White sangria was watery unfortunately but despite those little issues the service was great. My waiter Genesis was awesome.
Thank You To her for her great service.
When arrived the entire staff it is pretty friendly and smiling. They took us to table really fast. We went for the brunch portion and we chose different options based on our taste.
I want to be honest that we have a “detail” with the serving, but immediately and without saying anything the manager approach us, apologize about the problem and explained that they had a system issue so theyre using old school paper and was a misunderstanding on the kitchen, 5 minutes later our order was complete and correct.
The server and manager were checking for us in a pretty friendly way.
I do recommend this place, if you dont know what Tapas are, search on Google to have an idea.
Ole!
The food absolutely matched the setting. We ordered the chef’s menu, which was perfect since it was our first time here. Our server, Jennifer, did an excellent job selecting a wide assortment of tapas for our party of six, giving us the chance to try a little bit of everything. Every dish was well executed and flavorful, but nothing felt overpowering everything worked together nicely.
The drinks were solid good, but nothing overly memorable or extravagant. Pricing was a bit on the higher side, but with a party of six, the chef’s menus, and about three drinks per person, it was pretty much what we expected.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Boqueria. The Spanish-themed menu was worth the drive, and the fresh, homemade bread was a standout honestly, how can you go wrong with Spanish bread? It might be my new favorite.
The first time we went was during our anniversary in Oct 2023 and we just came from a horrible experience at a different dining establishment, it was also the first week that Boqueria was open and so we went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was a perfect time to sit at the bar and just take it all in. While the servers and bartenders were finding their way, they were still very much on top of Service, and also very kind.
The ambience gives me fun very New York vibes and the food is pretty great. When we went the second time, I will say what I really appreciated was the chefs tasting menu. The amount of food you get for the price is very reasonable. The server made sure to ask about any food allergies, what we liked, what we didn’t like, and was able to customize a dining experience to those preferences. And there was much more food than we knew what to do with, and that made us very very happy
The drinks are great and they have a pretty extensive menu. If you were looking for a diverse and tasty food experience with great cocktails this is the place to go.
The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that we are from EU (Portugal/Spain) and it’s really hard to compare once you experience the origin of tapas from those countries. I would say we liked eight or nine out of 10 of the things that we would order and that’s OK that’s the tapas experience.. you get to try a little bit of everything, and everyone will find something to enjoy.
I will definitely be returning to try the brunch menu and dinner items.
What really made the experience next-level, though, was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Even when there was a slight delay, the manager stepped in immediately and made sure everything stayed smooth, professional, and high-quality. That kind of leadership and care makes a huge difference.
Boqueria isn’t just a “special occasion” place, it’s the kind of restaurant you come back to because you want to try something new, share great food, and leave happy. We’ll absolutely be returning, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing tapas experience in West Hartford.
