We were looking for somewhere to eat nearby and last minute decided to call to see if they could fit us in — party of 5, only 15 minutes out, at 7pm. To our surprise, they were able to accommodate us! When we arrived, it was only about a 5-minute wait before we were seated. I was honestly shocked at how busy it was and that they still managed to get us in so quickly.

Everything was great from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was amazing. It had such a lively, warm vibe that made the whole experience even better.

We were so impressed that we were already talking about when we’re coming back before we even left. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!

If you’re looking for incredible tapas in DC, Boqueria Penn Quarter is absolutely worth the stop. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned for sharing. Every dish comes out with that authentic Spanish flair—crispy patatas bravas, tender meats, and the kind of sangria that keeps the vibe flowing.

The service is just as impressive. The staff is attentive without ever feeling rushed, and they’re great at recommending dishes if you’re trying something new. The atmosphere has that warm, energetic feel that makes it perfect for a date night, dinner with friends, or just a fun night out in the city.

Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

The food here was amazing. I had the shrimp appetizer and paella, chasing it down with their sangria. Service was top notch.

We had a wonderful meal at Boqueria! Our server was Alexa – she was excellent! We have several food allergies we were navigating and she was very knowledgeable about ingredients and cooking methods that could present potential issues. She provided helpful information and recommendations generally that helped us enjoy a delicious meal!

We went with our two boys and enjoyed a variety of tapas together. All of it was delicious, I would order everything again. The pan con tomate was a standout – super flavorful and great texture as well. The calamari was beautifully cooked, especially enjoyed the spicy tomato sauce with it. My son LOVED the octopus as well.

All in all, a great experience for our family!

Great atmosphere, Jeremy provided wonderful service. The food came out fast. Quality experience and would definitely recommend. Our favorites were the lamb skewers and iberico Mac n cheese, hands down the top two. We finished our meal with carajillo’s, perfect finish.

We ordered the meat paella, gambas, and a salad. The gambas were really good and ended up being our favorite dish. The service was friendly and attentive. Since it was my friend’s birthday, they brought out complimentary churros, which we really appreciated. I’d definitely come back.

The restaurant is hip and casual and yet elegant. The decor is beautiful and I love the flower decoration at the door entrance. The waiter, Mustafa, was attentive and friendly . Their tapas are authentic. It is hard to get this level of authenticity and creativity in the states in my view. We had amazing scrumptuous patata bravas (perfectly crispy), gambas (fresh shrimp with rich garlic sauce), thinly sliced smoked chorizo, churros with 3 type of dipping sauces, bikini (grilled ham/cheese/truffle aioli) sandwich, roast chicken with salsa verde, jamom croquettes, daitles and Sangrias! I am still savoring it now from this wonderful dinner.

Atmosphere and service were great.
Food was decent but not worth the price.
Underwhelming:
1. Octopus- super tough and chewy
2. Lamb skewers- very chewy! Not good cut of meat
3. Hamburguesas – these were actually very tasty except they cooked it blue rare. On the remake, they overcooked (it was well done+).

Nice choices:
1. The chorizo steak bread
2. The catalana cream

Other plates were just ok.

It was my first time visiting, and I had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly accommodating—they even arranged a table by the door for us, which we truly appreciated.
While it is on the pricier side, the overall experience made it worthwhile. Our server, Lex (I hope I got the name right), was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. The food was excellent, and I really enjoyed the lively, energetic ambiance. It made for a fun and memorable night out.
The only downside was that the dishes came out one at a time. Since it’s tapas, it would have been even more enjoyable if multiple plates were served together so we could share and experience them at the same time.
Overall, it was a wonderful visit, and I would definitely return.
