I was visiting family for Christmas and they took me here for breakfast. The line was really long when we got there (around 0930) so it took us about 2 hours to get in and be seated. I think it was because we went the day after Christmas and they also seemed to be short staffed.
I ordered the blueberry pancakes with the macadamia nut sauce. The pancakes were not dry and there were lots of blueberries, but the star of the show was definitely the macadamia nut sauce. I ordered two pancakes and it was enough to share.
I also ordered a side of the Portuguese sausage and some hash browns. My first time trying the Portuguese sausage and I loved it.
The staff members were all friendly and nice!
I want to go again the next time I visit so I can try one of their omelettes and get those pancakes again.

My husband and I first discovered Boots in 2008
on Hekili Street in Kailua when we rented a car to escape Waikiki to explore the island. We read about it in an early edition of ‘Oahu Revealed’. The banana macnut pancakes did not disappoint!! That sauce We had still talked about them years later and were excited to know they were still around, albeit in a new location, when we went in 2025 with family. Still as delicious as they were 17 years ago!

the omelette was not that great.
I did like their kalbi ribs though.

This place lives up to the hype–especially if you’re here for the macadamia nut pancakes. They’re soft, fluffy, and drenched in that signature creamy mac nut sauce that’s rich without being overly sweet. Definitely a must-try.
We also had the loco moco and omelet, both hearty and flavorful. The portions are generous, and everything came out hot and well-cooked. It’s comfort food done right, perfect after a beach morning or a chill island day.

Been a customer for over 15 years. So disappointed won’t go back. Imitation crab (which was not listed on the menu). Canadian bacon was a deli slice and finally the hidden 3% credit card fee not listed anywhere. Need to update your 2 to the new 2.5% kitchen fee on menu.

They do charge gratuity on parties of 6 or more, but don’t tell you. Asked for a refund on our extra $20 tip on top of ~$18 grat charge and lady working register snatch the receipt out of my hand (run back the tapes! )
We’ve eaten here before they changed locations a whiiiile ago. Mac Nut pancakes for whatever reason didn’t taste the same as I remember. Could just be my tastebuds, but ♀️ Fried rice was good. Chicken for chicken and waffles were okay.
You pay and tip before you’re served. And even when you’re being “served” they just drop the plates and drinks off at the table and you’re there trying to figure out what’s what for yourselves

Fun sporty atmosphere with football helmets, baseball signs, wheeties boxes on the walls. A sign posted out front stating they will take your order outside, pay inside at the booth, get your table, then they bring out your food. I ordered the seafood special omelet with hash browns. Inside the omelet was crab, shrimp, onions, mushrooms and cheese. 1 word, SCRUMPTIOUS! My husband ordered the Kahlua pork eggs Benedict with fried rice. His egg yolks were not soft, but that was the ONLY drawback. He thoroughly enjoyed his also. We both got water and he got root beer. Total was $54 & change. Not sure what Guy Fieri ordered here but we’re glad we ordered what we did. There was a wait to get in, but the wait did not take more than 15 minutes, and well worth it!!!

The prices were a little high but I get it, it’s popular. A little let down by how little Portuguese sausages come on the plate for it being over $20 though. Only 4 little slices. Everything tasted really good though! Would go back for the pancakes for sure!

I was really disappointed with the experience at Boots & Kimo’s. They refused to seat anyone because they were “short staffed,” so everyone had to wait outside. They take your order first and only let you sit after your food is ready, which completely defeats the point of dining in.
What really surprised me was hearing them ask the next person in line how they planned to pay — cash or card — before they were even allowed to sit down and eat. That’s crazy to me.
After waiting 20 minutes outside, I finally decided to walk away because it just wasn’t worth it. I was excited to try this place, but the way they handle customers made the whole experience frustrating and unwelcoming.
