We stopped by Bootleggers while passing through Jetmore, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of town on Main Street, making it very easy to find. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and authentic—it truly captures that small-town charm where everyone feels like a neighbor.
The service was absolutely top-notch. The staff greeted us with a smile and treated us like regulars from the moment we walked in. The place is clean, cozy, and very well-maintained. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite, take a break from the road, and enjoy some genuine hospitality. If you find yourself in this part of Kansas, this place is a total hidden gem!

I got the mushroom Swiss steak burger. Absolutely amazing! The fries were alright. Definitely could’ve been cooked a bit longer. The mozzarella sticks were good too!

Our french fries were undercooked. The baby shrimp was delicious. My side salad was very tiny and plain (only ice Berg lettuce) for 5 dollars.

The new owners are so nice. Service was amazing. The girls made me laugh so hard. Great people. The menu has all kinds of variety. I’m so glad it’s a restaurant and not a bar.

Ownership has changed and it is better than the last 3 times we’ve been there. Food, owner, waiter…. All was on point and very nice people.

Nice hometown restaurant that is under new owners. Good selection of foods and drinks.
Straight cut fries needed to be cooked longer, so they weren’t so soggy, but everything else was really good!

Had the chicken fried steak special, the Churro Cheesecake was great, the mashed potatoes were the same consistency as the gravy, and the chicken fried steak was the worse I’ve ever had. It was dry, tough as jerkey and flavorless although the breading was good. I’m not a picky eater but I could not eat the steak. Allthough there burgers looked good. The waitress was friendly, although she seemed to be new.

Not the best place in town but for late night it’s the only place in town. If you are passing through during normal hours 7a to 7p and can eat a meal without alcohol stop up the street at Judy’s Cafe, better food, better service plus you won’t see servers or cooks drinking while working. My opinion the food was overpriced for the quality of food. Asked for extra condiments it will help you choke the food down. It is the typical small town local watering hole/choke and puke. Most locals sitting in there by noontime are liquored up enough to enjoyed the food. I think the gas station up the street have better and hotter food than there. I have to admitted I have eaten dine-in once it took over an hour to get a cheese burger, tator tots, and ice tea. It tasted an hour old too. I tried eating there several other times but either the wait time was too long or they were not even open. The only thing this place has going for it is: it is the only bar in town in rural America and has a skeet-ball machine.

Was passing by on our way to Oklahoma and this was one of the only places to eat in town. I walked in and the server just stared at us as we walked in, I said Hi, do we seat ourselves and she just said yes. She still didn’t ask how we were doing or anything, I thought that was pretty bad customer service. The food was good but nothing to come back for, and one of our meals which was the special of the day came out 10 minutes after the rest of the food. In her defense the server did have a full house and no help.
