As a Boone regular, Boone Saloon is always a favorite. The chips and queso were great, the fish sandwich was underwhelming, but the food here is generally quite good. The service was great and it’s always a cool place to hang out.

First time visiting Boone and we stopped here for lunch. There were 3 of us. We ordered chips and queso for an appetizer and the chips are a good quality and the queso was tasty. The side sald looked fresh and crisp and the steak tacos looked delicious. I had the chili and it was the best chili I’ve had in a long time – hearty and full of flavor and just the right amount of kick! I couldn’t finish the bowl, so took home leftovers and I couldn’t wait to get home to finish off the leftovers (we live 1.5 hours away)! The waiters (we had 2 for some reason even though it wasn’t busy) were very attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely be back again!

Even though it was a pretty decent crowd, the bartender did a great job. Fast service, accurate orders. The tacos were good, but my child was not impressed with the chicken strops. Great service and atmosphere. Will come again.

I’ll start with sharing the positives which is that your manager Lindsay is fantastic. There was another great manager we encountered as well but I did not get his name. They really seem to understand the concept of business and making money, along with conflict resolution.
Now for the negative – it’s exactly as several others have commented previously, the “bouncers” (safety patrol) are horrendous. Totally on a power trip if you question them on anything. We asked why we had to pay a cover charge when we’d been inside for over an hour already. We had a large group and spent a good amount of money at the establishment up to that point and hadn’t planned to leave anytime soon. It really wasn’t about the money just the odd concept of paying after you’ve been there for so long. They agreed to let us finish our round before paying. Fast forward and one of the safety patrol guys comes over and starts ripping drinks out of the girls hands and kicking us out for not having paid the cover yet. We were getting ready to pay it and the safety patrol completely escalated the situation – it’s like they want to start trouble. Completely rude and disrespectful. They claim all of the cover money goes to the band. If you have a band coming and know there will be a cover why not start charging earlier if you absolutely need everyone in the building to pay? Mind you we were downstairs (band was upstairs) so we weren’t even listening to the band. We left and went back to the top to share our experience with the managers, which they handled appropriately and professionally.

We patronized this business during our vacation end of June 24. We tried to find a water hole that offers good food, great drinks and a casual atmosphere. The Boone Saloon delivered all those requirements.
On entering the business, we were greeted by friendly patrons and the bar tender. We choose to sit outside. The drinks were served fast and the food was quickly available. The staff made sure they checked on us regularly. We spent 2.5 hours in a very relaxed atmosphere and enjoyed our stay. I recommend this business to folks that are looking for a relaxed and friendly afternoon or evening patronage.

Great “bar” environment that you can take the whole family to, even the younger members (until a certain time, I believe 8pm) They have pool tables and good food. We visited while seeing my son at App. His 11 year old sister adored the jukebox.

Went to Boone Saloon on game day and it was a total letdown. We sat there forever and never even got a menu. The place had soccer on every TV and refused to switch one to football even on a Saturday during football season. Terrible service and zero atmosphere for fans. Wouldn’t recommend. We left.

Vibe is really awesome and it’s the perfect location for a college. Right by the Appalachian State campus so if you’re there to catch a game or just visiting make sure to stop here. Prices are extremely reasonable for food and beer. The seasoning on the pulled pork sandwiches really what sold me. Was not expecting something so good! Solid beer selection available as well as spirits.

The bartender was very friendly. I accidentally forgot my wallet and of course I scrambled to find other payment options available on my phone. Fortunately, another patron offered to pay for my beers and I was able to send money to him electronically. All the while, bartender was more than understanding.
The craft beer selection is moderate, not great but I was able to find something that I enjoyed.
The environment is interesting. The upstairs is nice and cozy with the woodwork, but downstairs feels like a college frat house. I was there late at night with very few people around so it’s hard to judge the environment without a crowd.
