We walked in around 6:30pm and found the place quite busy, locals vibe, but we were seated very quickly. I’ve been fortunate to eat here many times back with the original boondocks owners and the place still feels the same. The menu might be a little different, but there is a solid selection and we enjoyed our meals. We got the steak & blue salad, chicken strips, and fish and chips. Super happy this place is back!

Stop trying to figure out where to eat the best meal – it’s right here at Boondocks! The food is cooked to perfection – I had THE BEST steak, and hubby had the yummy special, Chicken Florentine. The salad was crisp and fresh, with your choice of HOMEMADE dressing, as a salad should be! Oh, and did I mention the fries? BEST Idaho fries EVER! Not the frozen kind, clearly fresh and well seasoned! Lest we not forget the cheesecake to top it all off – ooh-lala! I’m in a gastronomic food coma now from this delicious meal. When in Island Park, RUN to Boondocks – I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I was so excited. I thought things were going to be like how they were. I can’t believe they are allowing you to still use the name with the quality of the cinnamon rolls alone. “Grilled” shrimp. Nahhh try microwaved with garlic salt and butter. If you didn’t microwave em then there is even more disappointment to be disappointed in.

Expect a short wait during busy hours but for the limited staff on hand they produce the best meals you’ll find in Island Park. We got the bruschetta appetizer and I could not believe how fresh all of the ingredients tasted. Our meals were fish and chips and a blue bison burger for me. Both were extremely fresh and my wife’s fish tasted extremely clean and fresh for being in Southeast Idaho. We will definitely be making a trip out here again just for this restaurant.

Excellent dinner, we had a party of six and the food varied from Blue Bison burger to Chicken Fried Chicken. Every meal was delicious. The staff was friendly. The prices were reasonable for what you get. Recommend this place to all, most will enjoy this place.

This is one of my very favorite places to eat. I love their steak! It seriously ranks in the top 3 places I’ve eaten for a great steak! Their huckleberry cheesecake is also one of my favorites. Everything is fresh and so tasty. The owners, Pat and Nancy, are very friendly and you can tell they love their cute little restaurant. I highly recommend this place!
