Now just getting around to writing this but my fiancée and I were in 05/30/2025 for dinner. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. Our waitress Mackenzie was very attentive and recommended food and drink options. I had the Crabby Patty and a cup of their cream of crab soup. I know, I know….why order a burger from a place that primarily does seafood? It was AMAZING and used local beef, the crab dip on it was perfect. My fiancée had a crab cake in a bowl of the cream of crab and loved it as well. Food and service were top notch!

new to eating blue crab. the market price was really pricey and I expected a lot more meat from the crab. a lot of fun to get at it though; mallets provided. the clams were miniscule. hardly a bite. however, it is all very tasty, in a super casual space, picnic tables or typical dining. staff is professional, knowledgeable and prompt. TY for the experience.

Boondocks in Smyrna is a local treasure and one of the most unique seafood spots around! It’s got that laid-back, no-pressure atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while—whether you’re there for a casual dinner or a fun night out with friends.

They’re known far and wide for their infamous Swamp Water drink—it’s definitely a fan favorite and a staple of the Boondocks experience (even if you don’t drink, it’s fun to see the buzz around it).

The food? Always fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. You can taste the love in every bite. And booking a table—even for a large group—is super easy. The staff is friendly and efficient, making sure everyone feels welcome.

And of course, the bras hanging in the bathroom? Always good for a laugh and just one of those quirky Boondocks traditions that make it stand out.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Boondocks is worth the stop. Great food, great people, and a truly memorable vibe.

Crabs were great, waitress was awesome. Burger was excellent and rockfish bites outstanding. Shrimp also large and tasty! Will be back again this year!

Food, service, and drinks were amazing. Our waitress (didn’t catch her name) was great and brought our two year old a lollipop when she saw him getting antsy. 10/10

Had an early dinner Saturday. Shared the Pig Out which was the perfect combination of crabs, shrimp, corn on the cob, wings and fries. Everything was tasty! I also had the little neck clams. Decent wine. Overall great meal. Our server, Liv was awesome, very attentive and friendly despite the restaurant being extremely busy. Will definitely return.

We live right around the corner from here but never go and after this visit that will definitely change. Our server Michelle, was fabulous. Super friendly and kind. The food was delicious and came out fast even though the restaurant was packed. My little equestrian daughter spied this horse seat and it made her whole night! Just an all around great experience.

It’s a little bit out of the way, but it’s worth it for at least one visit. Two of us shared the “Pig Out” meal, which consists of crabs, corn, fries, shrimp, wings, and more. The service was exceptional, and our drink glasses were never near empty before refills were offered. The food did come out at slightly different times, but with a party of 9 people and the variety of food ordered, this is somewhat expected. The only negative is the slight odor of strong cleaning chemicals if you’re seated near the restrooms.

Been wanting to try this place for a couple of years. Finally got there and by far, the best crab cake I have ever had. Wish it was open year round.
Love the atmosphere and decor! Swamp juice was good as well and our server was great!

The atmosphere was good, waitress was super polite and attentive, the food just could have been a little better for the money. If you’re looking for crabs or a crab cake, awesome. If you’re looking for a steak, the steak is about twice as expensive as Texas Roadhouse and maybe half as good. Just didn’t have any real flavor to it. Overall, a neat experience
