We’ve passed by here for years and never stopped because it always looked too crowded from the road. We finally decided to give it a try and even though we had a tough time finding an open parking place, the inside was packed, but there were still plenty of tables open. We were seated right away. We ordered a seafood stuffed portobello mushroom with lobster bisque sauce, a blu cheese burger and a fried chicken sandwich. Everything was fantastic! Our server was excellent, and they had a great band. There are all kinds of games and activities to keep you occupied if you want to have fun. We will definitely be back.

Boondocks has been our go-to since 2014, but the last visit in 2023 wasn’t that great. We decided to give it another chance. The bartender didn’t look happy to see us at 8 pm when they are open until 10 pm. He explained he worked a double. Ok, well, we could take our money elsewhere, but we decided to stick it out. And regretted it because the grouper was so overcooked. They charge way too much for grouper now to overcook it. The mango balsamic salsa was completely different from how it used to be and didn’t taste very good. Looking back through my reviews, I can see from the photos how much better the food used to be. 11 years was a good run, but time for us to find a new go-to.

Stopped at Boondocks Grille on the way through the Keys and it was a fun surprise! The salad was massive—super fresh and really tasty. Fries were crispy and hit the spot. Bonus points for the mini golf course out back—great for a quick game and a break from the drive. Worth a stop if you’re passing through!

We stopped in for a few drinks and appetizers. The fish dip was very tasty. The Happy Hour onion rings were great, a large portion, and only $6.50. Our server Jaden did a great job taking care of us.

So disappointed, family talked this place up but my food had to be sent back, the Reuben meat was dry and crunchy, totally inedible. I struggled with a salad with not enough dressing. This is the second time I couldn’t eat the food, first trip ordered scallops but they were raw, which can kill people, sent them back and the replacements were even more raw. Wonder how many people they have killed. Others liked their appetizers but nobody could eat their entrees due to bad cooking. Wife had wings but could only eat three and left the rest on the plate because they were not good. Onion rings also known as grease sponges leave a coating in your mouth that ruins all other tastes. The cheese curds were so bland and tasteless, might as well eat the napkins too. They liked the bang shrimp, but too spicy and everyone got heart burn and acid reflux. The fries were ok for $20 fries. Notice the paleness of the sauced wings, something is not right. You can see the crunchy meat in the Reuben. Lots of good restaurants around. Avoid this place. **”*”Update, five of us had the house salad, the only thing in common, and all five of us were up all night with severe diarrhea. Thank you Boondocks.

Horrible experience from start to finish. Our server had an attitude from the start, had attitude about the drinks we ordered, brought my partner the wrong drink then tried to say it was what he ordered when it wasn’t even remotely close, even had attitude about my sons virgin pina colada. When they finally arrived, it seems they were all virgin and from a dispenser. Very blah and icey, not at all the consistency they should have been.
My partner canceled his soup yet somehow our sever just canceled the remainder of the order/ entrees. When he comes to tell us that we let him know we’ll just go rather than wait for it to be resubmitted. My soup literally tasted like warm cream with a splash of hot sauce. As soon as we said we’ll just go, he immediately cleared everything off the table even though we were still working on what we had in front of us. Zero discounts. Zero
“ let’s make this right for you all”. Nothing.
I would not recommend this place to anyone and will never go back.

The food was delicious! I had the Mango Mahi Mahi, which was perfectly cooked and paired with a tasty vegetable medley and crispy fries. My husband went for the BBQ Ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender, served with their unique bacon potato salad and classic coleslaw. Everything was fresh and full of flavor!
Bonus points for being dog-friendly making it a perfect stop for travelers with pups. If you’re in the Keys, definitely add Boondocks to your list!

We stopped at the farmer’s market (Sat), which was being held next door to Boondocks. After the market we stopped in for lunch. They were busy. But still had tables open. Our server was nice, but service was slow. My hubby had conch fritters and said they were tough (he knows how to prepare conch) he really liked the sauce that came with them. I had the stuffed portobello mushroom the stuffing was mediocre at best, but the sauce (crab soup) they drizzle over it was delicious! Our side salad was as expected. The musician was a nice addition.
