Our favorite restaurant in st pete! The owners are fabulous. They treat everyone like family. The pinsa, all appetizers, salads, gnocchi, etc. is all wonderful! The atmosphere and vibe is great as well. We love sitting at a table with friends and family or the bar top when it’s just the two of us. We love all the servers and bartenders too!

Food was fantastic, seafood linguine was amazing. Loaded with scallops clams shrimp and calamari. My husband got the braised beef rigatoni (genovese). Also loaded with beef. Server Hannah was great. Gave us recommendations for pairing with wine.

Quite an excellent dinner! Our server was excellent, with quiet confidence, knowing when to step in and was conversational at the end of our meal. One of our friends is a picky eater and his plate with finished clean! The atmosphere was lively, matching the downtown St. Pete environment.

Words can’t explain my experience. The appetizer was amazing. The entree spectacular and the dessert was to die for. Our server Bailey made our experience even better. This is a must if you’re in the tampa Bay Area.

Lovely corner restaurant with authentic Italian food and service (I live in Europe so I can compare). If you’re looking for a nice meal in beautiful surroundings, this is your spot. Also, great wine selection!

A cozy, chic spot with a wonderful variety of Italian cuisine. The focaccia bread paired perfectly with everything we ordered.

St. Petersburg is lacking in the food department. Bonu’ Taverna Italiana is one of the many mediocre restaurants in the sea of local restaurants.

We lived in St. Pete’s for a short bit. We’re foodies. I have 100s of review to reference. The food was a huge reason not to stay.

Bonu was always just average. I tried tons of options on their menu and it just never slapped, especially considering the price.

I’ve tried to figure out how to describe their food… the best way I can describe it is that everything on their menu tastes fresh off the pre-cooked Sysco truck. Bland, tasteless, overwhelming sauces… nothing was delicious nor made in-house. Frozen pre-cooked chicken breasts matched with a jar of Prego’s Alfredo sauce.

Drinks were fine if they remember to place your order. Staff is ever changing and be prepared to flag them down if you need anything.

We won’t be back. Just not worth the extremely overpriced menu.

We revisited Bonu in St. Pete after first dining there back in December, hoping for a standout experience, but overall the food felt solid yet unremarkable.

We started with the burrata and artichokes—both well-seasoned and enjoyable, but nothing that showed much innovation or technique. For entrées, we ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza, salmon, lobster ravioli, and braised beef rigatoni. Each dish was satisfying enough, but again, nothing truly memorable. Surprisingly, the highlight of the evening was dessert: the ricotta cake and tiramisu were easily the best courses of the night.

We paired everything with a bottle of wine recommended by our server, which complemented the meal nicely. Service was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant evening overall.

In short, Bonu is a good stopping point in St. Pete for reliably decent food, but if you’re looking for something innovative or exceptional, it may not quite hit the mark.
