Went here at 8:30p on a Friday night with 9 friends. We were seated promptly and they took our drink orders. Once we ordered our entrees they came back with soup and salads. That’s when the magic began. Our chef came to the griddle and began cooking our fried rice and veggies. The veggies were amazing and the fired rice decent. He then cooked the seafood followed by the meats. Everything was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The giant scallops were especially tasty! We were celebrating a birthday and they took our picture for the wall. The entire experience was great, we will be back!

This place is always 10/10! The service is always great the food is super yummy. We went to a similar place when we lived in Washington and it made us miss Bonsai because it didn’t come close to Bonsai’s taste or flavor. The workers are very nice too. Love it here!

Bonsai Japanese Steakhouse has been consistently reliable in fresh, good, food – and friendly constumer service. Sometimes the chicken or steak tastes like seafood because the cooks use the same utensils when prepping the food on the black top which has moved my rating from 5 to 4. Overall, it is a good place to eat with tasty, fresh, options.

Always a fun place with congenial wait staff, great food and selections
Some chefs better showmen than others but always entertaining. We were celebrating our 2 year Olds Birthday and with the persistence of the chef, our little o e caught a piece of shrimp in his mouth. He celebrated by clapping, biting the shrimp, spitting it out in his hand and shuddering.

This place was great BUT I am giving a 3star because there’s things missing and the prices nickel and dime you..

1st, there is no Yum Yum sauce which is served at every single hibachi place I’ve ever been to in 5+ states, and it was not served here..

Their Hibachi comes with steamed rice & it’s a $4.25 extra charge per person for fried rice which is crazy… ($8.50 for 2 people) fried rice should be standard for Hibachi.

A non-alcoholic drink was $4.75, biggest rip off ever.

Veggies.. they do onions, mushrooms and zucchini. Where the heck are the carrots & broccoli?

Food & service was great but these things will have me trying another place next time.

I’ve loved this place for over 20 years, haven’t been in awhile. They had gluten free options for my kids which was nice. But my food was just bland. Fried rice, noodles, steak, vegetables and salmon were not how they used to be I don’t know what’s changed. Prices gone up, food quality down.

The high ratings here must be from those who’ve never had teppanyaki; out of the other, lower rated, teppanyaki restaurants I’ve been to, this one tiers bottom. A generous three-star, we had a quite disappointing visit. The venue is nothing special. The rushed service from both the chef and bussers was uncomforting. Typically the teppanyaki chefs put on a show but ours did nothing but scoot the food around the grill and left 15 minutes later. As far as the food goes… the portions were adequate, the starting soup and salad were as expected, the chicken and scallops were good, however the noodles were burnt, the fried rice had zero flavor, and all of the steak our party ordered was bland and improperly cooked. We all ordered medium/medium-rare and it ended up either being well or outright raw. Not to mention the cook didn’t have a great guide on who’s food went where, lots of confusion. Overall the experience wasn’t dreadfully awful but it doesn’t even compare to the overall betterness of every other teppanyaki restaurant I’ve been to. I would say spend the time, and money, traveling to a different teppanyaki restaurant over going here.

I’m writing this review simply for safety’s sake for the public. Do not eat at this restaurant—My family and I went here a week or two ago, and had cockroaches as well as bugs crawling on the table where we were seated— it was unsanitary and appalling. One family member had on reflex smashed one on the table with the menu we were given. We reported it to the waitress and the manager, and it was treated with little to no care—especially from the manager which was jaw dropping. When reported, the manager had stated “we’re working on it.”—with no concern whatsoever, while still serving and seating customers. When we reported the first incident with the cockroach, one staff member simply wiped it off the table with a dry dish rag, and seated us at another table, while still handing us our old menus that were laying on the previous unsanitary table, while insects were crawling all over the new table. There was little care to the situation at hand, and for the safety of the public. I’m only writing this review as a safety measure, just to let people know this place is not safe to eat at, as an older sibling who saw families come in with young children, this was a dangerous health hazard of a restaurant— do not eat here, it’s not safe.
