Huge thank you to Edin G. and staff at this location. My wife and I had dinner here on 1/24/2026 and had an excellent experience. The service was outstanding as we didn’t have to ask for anything and the timing was great. The food was also fantastic. It was fresh, cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. We did a to go order. So bad. 3 of the 4 meats were so dry I couldn’t even eat it without choking. Order was missing all the sauces. We got the 4 we ordered that’s it and the ranch for the fried squash was opened and all over everything. Squash was so greasy and gross couldn’t eat that either. Extremely disappointed.

Went through the drive thru and ordered the large turkey platter with fries and green beans. Food was great! Green bean seasoned well and turkey was juicy. Great portion, only took one start off because the girl at the window isn’t very friendly to be doing customer service job. But Idk maybe she’s having a bad day. Everything else was great!

First time visiting this location and last. I attempted to call in the order over the phone and was placed on hold for a long time. Then the phone was disconnected on me. When I got there, I went through the drive thru and the young lady was rushing me to order. Once I got my food and left- my salad had frozen cucumbers on it and the salad at the bottom
Of the container was discolored from being old… it looked like it had been frozen and defrosted. Nevertheless, it wanted a good experience over all.

If I could give a 1 star, I would. The waitress brought me out burnt ribs. I asked her if all the ribs were burnt in the back. She then brought me 2 uncooked ribes and took the 3 burnt ribs back to the kitchen. The chicken was uncooked as well. I ordered sweet potato fries but I received regular fries. The waitress brought out a order of sweet potato fries with no flavor that appeared to have been sitting for a while and warmed up in the microwave. The waitress knew I wasn’t happy with my meal and never went to go get a manager or ask me how could she make up for my bad experience. I use to go here all of the time when the food was very cooked well and flavorful. They will never get a dime from me ever again.

The barbecue salad is a far cry of what it used to be years ago. We were passing through the area and I told my husband I’d love to get one of the famous Bono’s barbecue salads that I remember when I lived there. What I got was a sad excuse of a salad that had waterlogged cucumbers, no shredded cheese, a quarter of the meat that usually comes on it and the meat that I did get was filled with gristle as you can see in the photo where I discarded it on the lid. Please do better and don’t send out food like this. The founding fathers of Bono’s would be looking down on you in disgust. The only reason I gave it to was because my husband didn’t complain about the ribs.

We came to Bono’s BBQ in Fleming Island after church with a group of 10 around 12:30 PM. The restaurant was packed, which we expected on a Sunday, but we were told there were only two servers working the entire dining area. Unfortunately, no one could give us an estimated wait time, and after standing around for about 30 minutes without any updates, we ended up leaving and going somewhere else.
We were really looking forward to enjoying some good BBQ, but the lack of staffing and communication made the experience disappointing. This isn’t the fault of the servers, they were clearly overwhelmed and doing the best they could, but the management needs to step up. A busy lunch rush with only two servers is not a setup for good customer service.
I hope the owners or managers see this and make the necessary changes to prevent this from happening to others.
