So many tempting dishes on the menu, plus the secret menu, make it hard to decide what to try. They have angel hair pasta, a personal fav, cooked al dente with a nice marinara. The Rafael personal 12″ margarita (sp?) with ricotta stuffed crust sprinkled with toasty sesame seeds was worth the wait, crusty on the outside, melted mozzarella, fresh basil on top. Canoli tasted weird though, and the tiramisu could be boozier. BYOB. Service was attentive and amiable.

The food at Boniello’s is always great we’ve never had anything that didn’t taste good. That’s why this is so disappointing.
Takeout service is consistently slow and disorganized. Calling in an order often means being put on hold forever, and when you arrive there’s frequently no one working the takeout counter. We’ve waited 30+ minutes after being told food was ready more times than we can count.
Today was the final straw. DoorDash said the food was ready, but my husband waited over 26 minutes to receive it. The food was cold when he got home, and there was no apology. The manager we spoke to was dismissive and had an attitude.
We want to support local businesses, but great food isn’t worth this level of unreliable service.

I’ve loved in Riverdale now for 5 years and never even noticed this place. A friend of ours mentioned she’s been working part time for them forever and so we booked our 5 year old’s (family) birthday dinner there. Rustic look with a local vibe; it’s BYOB – sign your cork and stick it in the wall – come find it next time you dine-in. Boniello’s has the best pizza in the area and the portions remind me of Carmine’s in NYC. Great atmosphere, great food, and tremendous value.

I hosted my Christmas party at Boniellos and it was better than I could’ve imagined. From the second you walk in you can feel the positive energy from each and every person who works there and it radiates to the customers. We had a blast Bianca and 2 other girls were our servers and they did not miss. The food is also amazing I’m obsessed with their Chicken francese and they have lots of vegan options 🙂 Thanks so much for having us we will be back next year.

The food was passable, but mine was really salty. Hard pass on the calamari. It resembled something out of a bag, but I could be wrong. Reservoir Tavern still has some of the best calamari around. The portions were huge, so great value for someone who prefers quantity over quality. The service was fine. My biggest gripe…country music in an Italian restaurant. You’ve got to be kidding me. First, I can’t stand country music. Second, this is a Northern NJ Italian restaurant. Frank Sinatra was likely rolling in his grave in distress. Seriously, change the music.

I had a chicken piccata, it was amazing. So much food it was falling off the large plate. I would come back again and again. My husband had chicken saltimbocca – just as delicious. My sister-in-law had française and my brother in law had rigatoni abudanza…-absolutely to die for. Amazing. Kudos to this Restauraunt!

Boniello’s is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. I have a handful of go-to restaurants that I rotate between, and Boniello’s is always part of that rotation.
I have never been able to get seated walking in, but a reservation is your best bet.
The meatball slider appetizer is to die for, and the bruschetta is just as amazing. Whether it’s a cozy date night with my husband or a dinner out with a group, those two appetizers are a must — we order them every single time.
My personal favorite entrée is the chicken francese. The sauce is absolutely out of this world — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It’s so good that I can never justify ordering anything else.
For dessert, my husband is obsessed with the cannolis, while I love the chocolate mousse cake. The tiramisu is also good — classic and simple — but the mousse cake is definitely the standout for me.

My wife has wanted to go here for quite some time as our friends love the place. I have passed the restaurant lots of times and always thought it was just another pizza place in a strip mall. Thankfully, I was completely wrong. My wife decided we would give ot a try for her birthday dinner.
There wasn’t an item on the menu that we all tried that wasn’t a quality freshly made dish. They have many menu items that I would expect most pizzerias to have, but then they have great traditional and unique appetizer and dinner plates found at purely dine-in only Italian restaurants. The quality of the food explained the ridiculous amount of people on line to pick up to-go orders as nearly every table was full. Restaurant was very clean and staff were great. I believe they may have been a bit understaffed for a Friday evening, but you wouldn’t know it as they hustled to make sure everyone was happy and well served.
It’s BYOB! Make reservations!
