Friends in the city rave about Bonchon chicken so I was excited to discover this location when we were starting to get the hangry at the mall. I didn’t know much except that it’s fried chicken and it’s delicious.

Luckily there was a super helpful woman at the counter to assist us. She walked us through the menu items, explained the various options and even let my friend try one of the sauces to make sure it wasn’t too spicy! Our order was ready quickly and it lived up to the hype!

The chicken was fresh and perfectly fried, the seasoning and flavors on point. And the Bulgogi fries? Amazing! We’ll definitely be back!

Today I bought chicken to take home, and this is a picture of my box of chicken. The chicken was marinated with a lot of MSG, with whole grains of MSG clinging to it. It’s very harmful to health.

Tteokpokki was a little bit too spicy for my taste. Good dumplings, though!

Service: Quick and friendly.

Food: I did not enjoy my meal. The chicken was too salty and lacked good flavor while the fries were quite greasy.

Although it is conveniently located, I do not think I will return any time soon.

My family cannot leave KOP without stopping to get a bite at Bonchon, it is a staple in their experience and they never leave disappointed! Great food, never too salty or greasy! Service focused with quality ingredients. Always a special treat for us when we are visiting KOP!

Order the chicken katsu and my wife the kimchi fries. Took 25 minutes and I reminded them I exist twice while standing in front of them. Watched the server and cook argue about if my order existed. Got Katsu with no sauce, only chicken and rice. Only ate it because we were so far gone and I was so hungry.

My boyfriend and I ordered chicken katsu and bibimbap with shrimp shumai. The food was terrible – bland, bitter, and clearly low quality. The shrimp shumai was falling apart and looked like frozen dumplings that had been microwaved. After waiting over 30 minutes (while others who ordered after us got served first), our food arrived cold and unappetizing. My boyfriend only finished his katsu because he was starving, though he said it was bland too. I couldn’t even take a bite of my bibimbap.
When I complained about the bibimbap, the manager condescendingly asked if I’d ever had bibimbap before, then claimed theirs is “supposed to be cold.” Having eaten bibimbap many times, this was clearly not properly prepared. He did refund that dish, but his dismissive attitude was unprofessional.
For a mall food court, I expected at least edible food and reasonable service. This place delivered neither. Won’t be back.

Bonchon Korean fried chicken was really hyped up by other people and online, so I had high hopes for how good it was supposed to taste. However, when I finally tried it, I was disappointed to find that the flavor didn’t quite live up to the hype. The chicken looked like it was going to be crispy and well-seasoned, and the sauce that was used was flavorful, but I was expecting crispy chicken, and instead, it was soggy. It was like a soggy layer of dough. If I had known that, I would have just shared a meal with someone instead of letting it go to waste. It has a spicy kick to it, so if you like spicy food, you will like it. The portion size and fries were decent as well. Since it is in the mall, I just found a seat in the eating area, which wasn’t too far from the counter, so getting napkins and such was easy. The line wasn’t too long, and the staff was friendly. When I had questions, they were knowledgeable and helpful. It was in the mall, and it was pretty loud, but that’s usually what malls are like.

Avoid and go to anywhere else. I don’t know about service but common sense is not there. They had a customer waiting with a baby for over 30mins just to tell her they are out of wings and drumsticks. Only had 4 pieces ready out of 20pieces on the order. Why would you even put the 4 pieces in the fryer..? We ordered on a different day and both wings/drumsticks were extremely dry. Plain means no seasoning, no salt, just chicken deep fried in unseasoned batter. Any flavor only comes from a sauce of your choosing being brushed on. After overcooked fried chicken brushed with wet sauce the skin becomes chewy. We will never visit any bonchon locations again.
