Everything was SO GOOD! The drinks were great (I’m a sucker for a lychee martini), the pimento cheese beignets (not pictured because we inhaled them) were a unique treat, and the main courses (duck & andouille gumbo, seafood gumbo, fried chicken tacos) were delicious, and generously portioned. Also really appreciated that the music wasn’t so loud we had to shout to talk. Impeccable vibes, will definitely be making a return visit.

This place was an absolute missile!! The wife and I popped in for dinner thinking it would another cool Caribbean food spot, but it was so much more. Best i could describe it is Creole/Caribbean fusion. Hands down the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had and I mean that with full confidence. The banana cream beignets Absolutely no misses and the service was more than exceptional. I’ve never been to a restaurant where everyone from the hostess to the bartender chef and owners all checked in at some point. Congratulations again to you all.

The staff is extremely nice here but I was disappointed in the food. I got the seafood gumbo and it was seasoned well but my food was lukewarm when it was served. There was a lot of oil visible in the bowl and I just didn’t think the portion size fit the price. I left hungry because I primarily ate only the shrimp and a little rice. My friend got the lamb chops but they were flavored with too much liquid smoke. We both loved the soursop daiquiri and that was the highlight of our meal.

Nicest people on the planet and the food, the food. The battered and fried mushrooms, the gumbo, the TACOS!!! Shrimp or chicken are amazing! The fries are all fresh cut and crispy delicious. This will be your new favorite place to be. Cheers!

We went last night. Excellent service; had the crab roll, buff shrimp, beignets, and all was excellent. They clearly want people to feel like family. Only thing I would recommend is to work out timing between bar and kitchen so that drinks come well before apps, but I am sure they will iron that out. We will be back. As my wife said, this place feels like a hug.

Never write reviews, but this new neighborhood spot is beyond outstanding. Went with a few friends and the food, the music the vibe and the staff and owners are just incredible on all fronts. No wine yet, but the cocktails more than made up for it. Best old fashion I ever had, and the tropical nor’easter was friggin transportive. Had the wontons (best ever) and the lamb frites (smoke and sear was great, and the fries are best in town). Friends had the (wagyu!) steak frites, fish en papillote (never had anything like it, perfectly cooked fish and the flavors were out of this world). We tried both beignets as well. Get the beignets, ALL the beignets. Can’t wait to be back.

Honestly just wow. We got the pimento cheese beignets and the Cantonese pepper shrimp as apps and omg literally so flavorful. We even did some curry aioli with the beignets, so freaking good yall. We tried both the gumbos, the duck and seafood. The duck was a little spicy and im not a big spice person but I still crushed it because it was just that good, flavorful and juicy. After the apps and mains we were stuffed but couldn’t leave without trying the banana au rhum beignets. We did them without rum because we dont drink, BROOOOOO it just doesn’t make sense, they like melted in your mouth. Me and my husband were like this place is perfect for us, it has spice for the people that want it and more tame for others lol, but both have the flavor you want.

Also it’s family owned so please support. Support local. The staff is all family and they are super friendly and clearly take a lot of pride in their restaurant, as they should. If you are anywhere near Chesterfield and looking for a place that delivers authentic flavor, great atmosphere, and truly exceptional food, you need to check out Bon Temps. This afternoon, we ordered the duck gumbo, crack sauce wings, and the crab roll, and every single dish was outstanding.
The duck gumbo was rich, perfectly seasoned, and tasted like it came straight out of a Louisiana kitchen. The crack sauce wings absolutely lived up to their name — crispy, flavorful, and coated in a sauce that you could put on just about anything. And the crab roll was fresh, packed with flavor, and easily one of the best I’ve had.
What really stood out was the consistency across the board — great food, great service, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to come back again. You can tell they care about what they serve, and it shows.
Highly recommend Bon Temps if you want real Cajun flavor without leaving Virginia. We will definitely be back.

Wow! I was blown away with this meal. Had the andouille and duck gumbo and it was amazing. Such a punch in the face of flavor and the perfect level of heat. We will definitely be going back! There aren’t any other places like this that I know if in the Richmond area.

Excellent service and food. My pregnant wife can’t eat raw meat, but really wanted a burger. They made sure to cook it thoroughly and came over several times to check on us while we waited. That is great service. The wings, pimento beignets, and seafood gumbo were all top-notch!
