We got the three cheese terracini slice of pizza. It was solid! I’ve had better slices at other Italian bakeries. The sauce was tangy, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think I prefer sweeter sauce. Cheese was good. Dough could use a little more salt? Either way, not mad about trying this place out! We also got a loaf of Italian seeded bread and it isn’t anything special.

I originally came here to get a cassata cake made for my girlfriends birthday since its her favorite kind of cake. I ordered it and the service was great and very helpful. When I went to pay for it early (since they warned me that the day of the part would be very busy and it would just be easier for everyone to pay for it early…it was a good suggestion). When I went in to pay for it I got a slice of this spicy Terrasini and it was goooooooood. Right level of spice but great sauce and the crust was awesome. Everything was very reasonably priced and I appreciated that as well.
The day of the party comes and the cake looks awesome. I had never had cassata cake until then and I have been missing out in life because boy was it good. My girlfriend loved it as well! I had multiple people at the party ask me where I got the cake too!
This is a place that reminds me of my favorite Italian bakeries/deli’s when I went I lived in Boston. Will defiantly be coming back for cake and absolutely coming back for a slice of pizza!

Absolute gem – walk in and grab a number, it may take a minute but it doesn’t get any fresher. Italian desserts, fresh baked bread, tons of wine, pizza by the slice or great prices whole pizza. My FAVORITE Italian sub. Friendly, community vibe. Favorite.

Stopped in to get donuts and a slice: took a number and was helped promptly. Ordered two dozen assorted donuts. They let me know the donuts were half-price, as the donut maker wasn’t in today and the donuts were from yesterday.
I would have preferred fresh, but the staff was very up front with the information, and I felt that half-price was a good way to handle the situation. The donuts were pretty good.
My slice was great, maybe my new favorite in metro Detroit. Great thin crust with just enough substance to it, great ratios of crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
Was impressed with how much they fit in the store; next time I go, I’ll plan to do a little grocery shopping and try a sub!

I want to say that this place is evil because it’s so good that I end up getting way more than I intended. Everything is so good. Everything I’ve tried, anyway. Pizza, cookies, donuts. They have a huge wine selection, but I don’t drink, so I haven’t looked at it. I look forward to trying more because I know they won’t disappoint. I was waiting in line before Christmas and I was talking to a man whose grandfather used to go to the original location, and they’ve been at this location for 63 years, so that speaks volumes!

Bommarito is awesome! They have great pizza and great pastries. I labeled it four stars instead of five because of the sauce. I believe they needed more sauce. Everything else seemed to be great. I’m glad they are heavy on the toppings. You definitely get the right amount of toppings when you come here. That pizza was cooked the right amount and the staff was friendly! I will definitely go back.

Found myself back in the area at lunchtime so I figured I’d give them another opportunity.
Really is just a wine store/bakery/pizza place. There is nowhere inside to eat. The restroom aren’t available. Strictly carry-out only. So I’m not eating lunch here, my car is not a dining room. But I decided to pick up a couple of donuts for Saturday breakfast so I can have some idea if the food is that good.
With at least four people working, the service was surprisingly slow. Get your number, wait several minutes. One older woman appeared to be helping a customer but just sort of wandered around the bakery case looking at things. Guess she doesn’t know what’s inside it.
Both she and the woman wrapping up pizza slices & sandwiches to-go were bare-handed. From food to money to boxes and countertops and right back to food. Not sanitary at all! She did use the little papers for getting two of the donuts but not for the other two. Not looking forward to food poisoning. Tongs are a neat device, try them out.
The cherry donut was very tasty. I like that it was glazed on both sides so it did not dry out. The chocolate frosted stands out in that the frosting actually stays on the donut & not on the paper.
The two apple fritters were eaten the next day. Both were seriously thick, well-glazed (again, avoided drying out) but only one had any apple in it and very little at that. The cinnamon was a bit lighter than others but still good.
Work on your proper food handling/sanitation and maybe I’ll stop in again.
Tried to stop at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. (The Italian sub sounds delicious.)
Lights are out, doors are locked. No longer serving at this location or maybe an extended holiday closure I can’t say. But I’m still hungry.

Love their home made salads. Pizza looks very good and you can just buy a slice of various pizzas . Be prepared to wait about five min because they are always busy or I just stop in when everyone else does . Love this place and it’s been here for over 100 Years!!!

We get pizza all the time from here. It’s always perfect, consistent and not to mention convenient. Not to mention it’s nice to see faces I’ve seen since I was a child still working the counter. Hands down our family’s favorite pizza. And the subs are supreme too.
