The quaint walk-up window started as a playful idea stemming from Top Chef fan favorite and executive chef Fabio Viviani’s famous bomboloni, a holeless italian doughnut. The concept name and identity centers around the story of the bombo and the secret recipe Fabio keeps close to heart. BomboBar serves their bomboloni (along with gelato and coffee) infused, or topped, with various filling flavors that are ever-changing on a seasonal basis.
Donuts with sundae-style toppings, plus gelato & coffee, doled out in hip digs with sidewalk seats.

First off I love this neighborhood foodies paradise! Bombobar donuts are not your typical cake donuts. We tried two different types one with chocolate and one with caramel and a shake/ice cream definitely need to share that to much for one person. The donuts are covered in sugar and come with a little squeeze bottle of whatever sauce you wanted. It is up to you to squeeze out as much sauce as you might want. If you are a total fan of a good cake donut, these may not be for you, but they are certainly worth a try, and were pretty good, especially as they come to you nice & warm. The prices are a bit high, but that is to be expected for the neighborhood. 100% recommend!

Great for the gram, bad for your pocket and mouth. I wish I had better things to say but the hype is in the aesthetic and the taste just ain’t all there. The hot chocolate is water based so it tastes like a fancier version of concession stand hot chocolate and the donuts are alright but the ratio of donut to topping is off. They look great and I’d say if you’ve never been then try it but I wouldn’t go back. This a one and done type of place.

I’ve seen many people post this location and decided to give it a shot! Though, we had already ate and wasn’t hungry for some doughnuts I got a hot chocolate and my partner a gelato cookie sandwich. We both like it! It was very delicious! Next time we’re sure trying the doughnuts! Staff helped me out as it was my first time ordering and helped me create my order. Overall an above average dessert joint. Slightly on the pricey side but you pay for quality here!

This “in the cut/window service” sweet treat place is great for if you’re in need of a treat or want to take a walk in west loop! My friend and I stopped here to get something for a walk in the neighborhood: we tried the salted caramel with snicker bites gelato and the strawberry lemonade Italian ice. Both were 10/10 delicious! The service was quick and of quality. It’s also such a cute shop to look at! Definitely will be back throughout the summer!

Donuts were fresh and delicious. The gelato was perfect. I do wish however that it was clear in the google listing for the business that the location was just a walk up window with no seating. It wasn’t the end of the world but wasn’t expected. Bombolini were worth it!

This is one of the places that I loved to go and I did. Before we start, if you are planing to go to have the donuts, shakes, or gelato you would to stand out, because they don’t have place for this service. In side is only for restaurant and par. Wonderful shake I drank that day, really worth to try. I highly recommend to come and get one of those. Delicious, looks nice and have multiple choices. I have here small note for you that, it is kind of expensive if you want to get an order. I see it should be less expensive to be honest.

I ordered the double cheese Bomboburger with beacon and parmesan fries and four Bomboloni (Vanilla bean, Cherry cheese cake, Lemon Meringue and Fruity Pebbles& milk) with Caviar (I highly recommend Caviar it was fast and it has free delivery and discount for new users) the fries was delicious but not as crispy as fresh. The burger was indescribable!!! It was fantastic!!! Juicy, cheesy with fresh buns and generous amount of bacon. I highly recommend it.
Among the Bomboloni’s I was very exited for Fruity Pebbles& milk but I don’t recommend that :/ but I highly recommend Cheery Cheese Cake and Lemon Meringue because the combination of citric flavor and the creamy, fluffy texture makes them a unique experience that you cannot find else where. I wish they didn’t sugar coat their donuts!

I love this place. Why have a Hot Chocolate when you can have a S’more HOTTER CHOCOLATE! Their Hot”ter” chocolate is the crazy stacking of sweet (your doctor & dentist don’t recommend) things, and wow, was it a great experience and drink!
Good news, they have recently installed a sheltered booth outside the hole in the rock, so you don’t need to think twice about queuing, instagramming, and drinking this baby in the freezing windy Chicago winter weather!
Can’t wait to visit them against!
