Bombay street food is a gem. The naan is perfectly soft and the veg Kolhapuri is rich, flavorful, and has the right amount of spice. The customer service is top notch, friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. Highly recommended for a comforting and delicious Indian meal.

Excellent food and amazing service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This place was highly recommended by my host who lives nearby. I had the chicken saag, with garlic naan, and a mango lassi. The chicken was so soft and juicy, the naan was crispy and tasty, and the mango lassi was sweet and creamy. Everything exceeded my expectations.

The restaurant has great vibes and great music. Definitely a great place to bring company. Strongly recommend for people out of town or for dates.

What a wonderful little gem of a place! We were staying in the area on vacation and trying out all the different restaurants and made it here for one of our lunches. When you walk in it’s so unassuming, low key, wonderful scents, and friendly. We initially didn’t have any expectations of the food, but when it was served, wow! Every bite was a burst of the most wonderful flavors. Every plate added more delight as we discovered more tastes. We had the palak chat, keema pav, and chicken tikka and were so full we couldn’t finish it all. We wish we had chosen to have dinner here to really get to try much more food! The server was so friendly. Next time in D.C. this will be one of our first stops!

Excellent dining experience. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly prepared with care. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff handled everything efficiently. The ambiance was clean, comfortable, and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Portions were generous and well priced for the quality. Definitely a spot worth revisiting and recommending to others.

I love this place — I was getting dinner in between activities on a Friday night, and it was perfect. The saag paneer rules, and came out really fast. The portions are SO BIG! I’ll have breakfast for tomorrow. Also, this isn’t the restaurant’s doing, but I had a lovely convo with other patrons. It was really just a nice, neighborhood evening! Great value for the price.

If you’re craving vibrant Indian flavors in the heart of Capitol Hill, Bombay Street Food 2 delivers an outstanding casual dining experience that showcases the best of Bombay-style cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the warm aromas and friendly service set the stage for a memorable meal. The menu offers a fantastic variety of classic Indian favorites and street-food-inspired dishes, all prepared with bold spices and fresh ingredients that capture the essence of Indian home cooking.

The vegetable biryani is a standout — fragrant basmati rice layered with perfectly seasoned vegetables that deliver both comfort and complexity in every bite. The paneer tikka masala is rich and creamy, with cubes of tender paneer that soak up the sauce beautifully. Sharable favorites like samosas and Bombay palak chat make excellent appetizers, offering a delightful mix of textures and flavors to start your meal.

Portions are generous without breaking the bank, and the laid-back atmosphere makes it perfect for lunch with friends or a relaxed dinner. Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Bombay Street Food 2 is well worth a visit for its delicious food and welcoming vibe.

For starters, I wasn’t into eating East Indian food, until I ate at Bombay Street Food 2. Now I’m a huge fan – especially the Chana Masala and with a side of Roti. The manager is super nice and easy to get along with – and I’ve tried other East Indian restaurants since and none have been as good or as consistent as Bombay Street Food 2.

We visited this restaurant on Wednesday night for dinner and ordered dahi puri, pav bhaji, and chicken chilli.

Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. The pav bhaji was nowhere close to authentic pav bhaji — it tasted stale, and the pav was overly greasy, completely soaked in butter/oil. The dahi puri was average at best, and the chicken chilli was not good either. Overall, the quality of the food was very poor.

What concerned us the most was overhearing one of the chefs say:
“Aloo gobhi Saturday ko hi banaya tha, itni jaldi kaise kharab ho gaya?”
(Translation: Aloo gobhi was made on Saturday — how did it go bad so quickly?)

This raised serious concerns about food freshness and hygiene standards.

We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, which is why we could clearly hear the kitchen conversation. Between the questionable freshness and the poor taste, the experience was extremely disappointing.

Are these really the standards the restaurant follows? Unfortunately, this visit left us with a very negative impression.
