I have been to similar places, like Tasty Pot, and the customer experience can vary quite a bit. The prices here are on the higher side, but the portions are slightly larger. I ordered the Thai tomato soup, which was tasty but definitely on the sweeter side; tom yum soup is not supposed to be sweet. It seems they added some sugar or sweetener to the soup base.
We also ordered the House Special soup base (House special (stinky stinky pot in Chinese) The texture of the cabbage in the soup was enjoyable, but if you’re unsure about this dish, you might want to choose something else, as the soup has a strong smell of stinky tofu and is definitely an acquired taste. Overall, the restaurant was decent. The lighting was dim, and the place was neat, but the tables were quite close together, making it easy to overhear other people’s conversations.
Long wait on a weekday lunch (40 minutes). Inattentive young staff. I feel like they’re missing a manager / owner presence.
Lackluster food and if you’re selling point is the experience then the experience you must have going for yourself, which they don’t really.
If you want hot pot and better service or experience explore elsewhere first
Btw love the little sauce cans on the side!
This is located in the Osaka Marketplace plaza and it was very empty on a Friday night at 7:00 PM. A pretty small location compared to others that I have been to, but overall very clean interior. The staff are a little awkward, but they get the job done. I appreciate that they offered to give us extra soup broth mid-way! Very considerate.
The 4 causes they have are amazing. Garlic sweet chili rocked. Garlic bean paste seems super popular.
The flavor was like the one I had in Irvine, very authentic Taiwanese little hotpot. Would definitely come back again!
I tried Fremont again today and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was much better than four years ago. Dipping sauce is much better and more meat now .
$20 for lunch , come with drink , rice or noodle your choice.
Will get this restaurant 3.5 star
