Do I dare say it… these are the best birria tacos?
Yes. Yes, they are!!!
This tiny, hole-in-the-wall taco spot is proof that the most unassuming places often serve the most unforgettable food. From the very first bite, I knew I was in trouble in the best way possible. When I say I inhaled these tacos, I mean it. No pause, no talking, just pure focus and joy.
The birria is insanely flavorful: rich, deeply seasoned, tender, and juicy, with that perfect balance of savory and comforting. The tortillas are dipped and grilled to crispy perfection, soaking up all that glorious flavor without falling apart. Every bite is dripping with goodness, especially when dipped into the consommé warm, aromatic, and packed with depth. It’s the kind of food that makes you close your eyes for a second and just appreciate life.

Super mid place. Saw the 4.7 stars and 1000+ reviews so my brother and I figured we should try it out. We both got steak burritos, a side of chips and guac, and 2 drinks… total was a whopping $60 before tax. Crazy price. Not sure if we got a bad batch but the burrito was 80% rice, 10% sour cream, and only a few bites of actual steak. Even tipped 20% too, so I’d hope the ratio wasn’t just out of spite. Thought mine was a botch but my brother’s was the same. See pictures below.
The chips and guac were good but for $6 I’d expect a little more than what Chipotle has to offer… literally the same little cup. Again, see pictures below.
All in all, I expected a little better. Maybe the tacos are the move and I made the mistake of getting a burrito. But for nearly $20 per burrito, $60 for a meal for two… might as well go to chipotle and get extra meat and extra guac for less.

First time at Bodega Taco Bar. The food was excellent; we had the Birria Tacos, chips and salsa (verde salsa with a nice kick) and the Burrito with asada. As you can see in the picture, the burrito is as big as my head! I will definitely visit them again . Highly recommend

BUT you will wait forever for your food. I’ve never gotten my food on time…I’ve even waited the extra time they suggest online. Still not done….its really frustrating. I’ve ordered delivery and it’s late. I’ve ordered ahead and in person. I want to support local but the wait times NEED to be accurate. I put this in the review so you can plan accordingly and hopefully management will see this and find a way to improve

I always love coming to this one or the one in uptown. I’ve tried the crazy fries and birria ramen in the past and both are great. They have excellent birria tacos, the corn in a cup is always a good choice and I’ll never get tired of drinking the mangonada slushie every time I come but today?!

The quesabirria tacos from La Bodega are immaculate. The consomme is the best I’ve had anywhere in all the Twin Cities and out. The folks running La Bodegas are the real kings and queens, so you better be as kind and friendly to them as they are to you. You will never be disappointed eating here. Absolutely LOVE this place.

We’ve been to this location and the uptown location. Both are great! Food comes out fast and the service is friendly. We always get the quesabirra tacos. They are well seasoned and the portions are generous. They don’t skimp on the meat here!
There’s not a lot of seating, but they have some counter seating and tables outside. Best to visit with a small group or take orders to go.

The birria here is great. It’s very moist and flavorful. The tacos are packed with meat. While not the best I’ve had, they are very outstanding and worth a trip here if you live in the area. Highly recommended, and it was my favorite part of this meal.
The egg rolls are the same, but it’s only the meat and cheese (no onions/cilantro). As a result, they are a little rich for me, but great nonetheless.
The tortas have lots ingredients, but I personally found the flavor to be not as noteworthy as the tacos.
Another thing that I will mention is that the dishes have very generous serving sizes. You can order just 1 and no sides, and you will be full. We left the establishment on the precipice of a food coma.
Not pictured in my review: a side order of fries. They were pretty good. Well-salted, but I enjoy salty food.
As an addendum, there is a promotion for customers to receive a free dessert upon leaving a 5-⭐️ review. Regardless, I personally consider this place worthy of that rating, regardless of the incentive.
