I’ve been on the hunt for great Italian food in SW LA. I found it. Bodega Wine Bar & Restaurant. Amazing vibe. Great bars, they have two. Pick one. Table seating. And my favorite? Slouchy, comfy settle in and spend the evening couches and chairs. Solid drinks and wine list, by the glass or bottle. Their wine store is next door. It only gets better. Attentive and knowledgeable servers made me feel right at home. These are the best lamb pops I’ve ever put in my mouth. Grilled to perfection with a hint of rosemary. Pasta is mix and match, I chose Alfredo which had a hint with nutmeg as it should and that took it over the top. And dessert? Pistachio cannoli. Perfection on a plate. To ice this cake, they also have music from time to time. Thanks for a wonderful evening, y’all. A hat tip to Ellie and John. I will return. A solid 5 ⭐️’s across the board. Try it, you’ll see.

A Night of Highs and Lows: Excellent Food and Wine Undermined by Service
I recently visited this establishment on 10/25/25 and, while the setting and initial experience promised a fantastic evening, the subsequent lack of service left a noticeable stain on the overall experience.
Upon arrival, I was greeted promptly, which set a positive tone. I chose to sit at the bar, which was spotlessly clean. The decor, environment, and overall setup of the restaurant are truly commendable—the space is very pleasant and the atmosphere is well-curated.
The dining experience started strong, particularly concerning the wine. My initial server suggested the Silencieux’ from Napa Valley, which was an excellent, spot-on recommendation. For food, I ordered the Grape Crostini. It arrived hot, and the taste was genuinely pleasant. However, the presentation was underwhelming and definitely needs work to match the rest of the restaurant’s high standards.
A major highlight was the resident sommelier, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, recommending a fantastic 2011 Vinos Finos de Rioja that perfectly complemented my meal.
Unfortunately, after this peak, the service quality plummeted. My initial server completely disappeared. When I was ready for a second glass of wine and an entrée, I was left waiting for a frustrating 15 minutes before I could flag down a different server. This new server, however, was clearly distracted, choosing to chat with a friend rather than attend to waiting customers, including myself. This period of being ignored drastically detracted from what was otherwise shaping up to be a five-star review.
In summary: This restaurant has all the elements of a top-tier establishment—excellent wine choices, genuinely pleasant food, and a beautiful, clean environment. However, the severe inconsistency in staff attentiveness, particularly the complete vanishing of my first server and the indifference of the second, is a fundamental issue that needs addressing. I hope they can bridge the gap between their outstanding product and their unreliable service.

We had the best anniversary dinner at Bodega. They hit it out of the park every time we visit and this time was no exception. Korey was an amazing server and we thoroughly enjoyed all of his wine and food suggestions!

While visiting from out of town on a work trip, my local friend introduced me to Bodega Wine Dive. Great bar service with very attentive bartender on a Thursday night. My friend and I split a bottle of Outlier, one of the lighter Pinot Noir’s available. The wine was so smooth and delicious! My first impression was what a beautiful atmosphere. Walking in from daylight to a very dimly lit bar was a small adjustment, but as soon as I could see, I saw what a beautiful interior it was. Seems like the perfect place to catch up with friend(s) over wine and some bites. My friend ordered the wine lovers pizza and I ordered the chicken parm but subbed for the eggplant parm. The eggplant parm was thin, crispy & delicious and served with a generous portion of angel hair pasta. My friend gave me a taste of her pizza, and I was unexpectedly very impressed – a foodie lovers dream! Wow! I will be back!!! Thank you!!

Calvin our server was absolutely amazing! The sommelier come by and recommended great wine for us. You Have to try the tiramisou made it house paired with their tequila based espresso martini! Best thing from the whole night! Lastly Joana the manager came by and introduced herself to us and it was just the cherry on top of the whole experience!
