Cozy, brick-lined restaurant offering a menu of upmarket Italian entrees & housemade pastas.

We had a small group visit for a dinner outing. Our overall experience was limited by them not being allowed to serve alcohol while we were there, and a key dessert item not being available. Our server Becca was amazing and left a favorable experience though the food & beverage items were not meeting expectations. The atmosphere is beautiful, old time brick and timber. A few items for attention: about half the string lights in the ceiling are burned out or missing. Same for restroom lighting, of 4 bulbs, 1 missing and 1 burned out. Also, the sink in the men’s restroom was ripped off the wall and hanging by a bent peice of metal. For the meal I had the Cappellini Pomodoro (spaghetti) and tried the spicy sauce option. The spicy was a gradual slight heat that I enjoyed.

It was decent Italian. Small menu, small interior. Pasta is fresh which is great, but the time I went it was a little over cooked. Sauce is decently seasoned. Overall a mid Italian spot for Chattanooga, a little pricy for what you get.

I forgot to take photo of caesar salad. It was so good. Everything was good but the tiramisu was out of the world. Amazing staff ❤️

Absolutely the best ravioli I’ve ever had. The brown butter sauce with delicate lemon and tomato flavors is just absolutely stunning, and the handmade pasta is incredible. We’ve been coming here on our anniversary for fourteen years now, and the food is just as delicious as ever. I am sad that the crème brûlée isn’t available anymore, as it was stunning, but I love everything I’ve ever had from the menu. The food is northern Italian-style, and so delicious. We still make the three-hour round trip for our anniversary and it is so, so worth it. Highly recommend Boccaccia! It’s such a reasonable price for the quality of the food. Definitely make sure you get reservations ahead of time, too. It’s a small place, but I love that. Don’t miss this gem!

So I went for my birthday dinner. They were nice to push the reservation 2 days because of the cold weather which was great. Now we went in when they opened. There was a reservation for 530. We were there a way before our reservation we went in to be sit down. Our waiter was okay, but he was also busy. It seemed like the entire time on the phone and trying to run orders and trying to seat people. Along with the one other server that I saw. There was another guy that seemed like he was trying to do the bar and the kitchen on his own. And they were also still accepting people walking in without a reservation. We had to ask for more bread. We never got more water. Our table was tinded when the food came out and maybe one other time to ask if everything was O k, but otherwise we had to ask for things or you couldn’t even ask for things or tell things to them because they were so busy with everyone else that nothing got tended to. Now the atmosphere was great. The food was amazing. I’m gonna put some pictures below. The only thing that was lacking for me was the service. Now the server was very nice and the other server helped him out as well. But either they didn’t have enough help. Or they were accepting too many customers with too little weight staff. I understand that everyone is understaffed and people are calling in. People are doing this and doing that but again. I don’t know if it’s because of the owners or being able to afford it or what. But the service was slightly lacking compared to what I would think would be for a high upscale. Italian restaurant like this place advertises itself. To being said, the food was amazing. Yeah, my sphere is great. The service could have been better.

This dimly lit, leaning more to modern Italian restaurant has some of the best handmade pasta I’ve had since moving to Chattanooga. My wife and I were able to escape our kids, (thank you babysitter!) which the atmosphere deserves some description. Dimly lit with candles dark decor, quiet and romantic atmosphere we were able to enjoy our time once we got through a small wait. On to the food! – The bolognase is a must try. We ordered another helping of it to go, I enjoyed it that much. The drinks were delicious I enjoyed a dirty gin martini. Our waiter and the other wait staff around were all friendly and helpful which always helps. The calimari was tender, hot and perfectly cooked. My veal scallopini was also tender & delicious. The tiramisu left a little to be desired which is the only reason i gave 4 stars i would have given 4.5 if possible. Tiramisu should be spongey not; the way it was. We will be back for certain; the food, the staff all made this my 2nd favorite Italian restaurant in Chattanooga… thank you!

I really enjoyed the location. We entered around 6:30 on a Friday night. They were able to accommodate us without a reservation. I was taking aback that they were out of lasagna already. I would figure that is an item you would want to have on hand, especially for a Friday night rush. Alternatively, my wife chose the ravioli. You could certainly tell it was house made. It was delicious and it was with spinach and cheese.
The downside here was my $20 lemon chicken piccata. It was very underwhelming. Every chicken piccata dish I have had at an Italian restaurant is made with pan fried chicken typically coated in a layer of flour. This was made with grilled chicken. I have never seen this dish made with grilled chicken. I’d expect this from a roadside diner but not an Italian restaurant. To top that the lemon sauce was the consistency of water.
We finished the meal with the chocolate tort and that was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my Pinot noir as well. I am leaving at four stars because I cannot in good faith leave anything below that to a local small business.
My recommendation would be to seek out more advice on how to execute a traditional lemon chicken piccata. That or retrain your staff not to serve it with grilled chicken just because it is more convenient to cook than pan frying chicken during a Friday night rush.

This place has the potential of being very good. Food was not bad. Service was good. But the atmosphere of no lights in the lobby or hallway towards restrooms was a little creepy. The dim lights in serving area was quite nice . Overall I would give them another try.

I could almost give Boccaccia 3 stars for the fresh pasta and creme brulee but the rest was so sub standard and the value so poor, I could have equally given a 1. The restaurant was about 1/3rd full, so our party was seated quickly. 15 minutes later, we met our waitress and she left so fast after we gave drink orders, we couldn’t give her our appetizer orders. We had to wait another 15 minutes to order appetizers. So, we also ordered our entrees as the place was filling up, there was no telling when she’d show up again. The carpaccio and misto plate came out quickly and were very good. But, good things don’t always come to those who wait…about 1 hour later the entrees arrived. They weren’t even palatable and little care was given to presentation. The quality of the veal and chicken was shameful. Tough rubber! The sauces tasted like they were out of a squeeze bottle from Aldi’s. The lasagna noodles were excellent but I think they sourced the beef from Taco Bell. I’m not joking. For an encore, our waitress took our creme brulee order and then disappeared so fast we couldn’t even order lattes. To cap it off, the bill was about $75 per person. The gap between price, food quality, and service makes Boccaccia amongst the worst I’ve ever experienced…which is actually impressive on its own. If not for the few redeeming points I mentioned, I could have landed at 1 star. With so many quality Italian joints in Chattanooga, I don’t see any reason to go to Boccaccia.

If you’re looking for delicious, fresh, melt-in-your-mouth Italian dining in an intimate setting, this is your place! The gnocchi with pancetta and tomato sauce was so tender and delectable—I topped it with goat cheese crumbles which brought out all the flavors. I enjoyed an espresso martini toward the end of the meal which was a tasty way to wrap things up. My husband sipped a flavorful merlot with his Involtini—chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and fontina. He was in heaven. We had a lovely date night here and appreciated excellent service from Dan. Make your reservation and enjoy!
