Tonight we discovered a local hidden gem of a restaurant offering some truly tremendous Puerto Rican fusion food. Our waitress Samantha helped us pick some great dishes to sample the menu for our first time here, and they certainly did not disappoint! For appetizers, we started with the “los bucketcitos” fried plantain cups filed with charred churrasco steak and sofrito. We also indulged in the “el porki” cooked sushi with pork tenderloin and sweet plantains!
After so many great flavors in the appetizer round we decided to split the fried pork platter with crispy yucca, mashed potatoes, rice and beans, along with the “el sancocho” soup (the broth was so rich and delicious and the meat was as tender as can be!).
We were blown away with the high quality of our entire meal combined with new flavor combinations that made us excited to come back for more!
5 stars all day for Bocao restaurant in my book!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

YES!!! Boricua Sushi is here! I had both of these monsters. One is rice and seafood, but the other is a rolled mofongo. Ingredients, especially the sauces that dress them, are delicious. I’m going back for the oxtail empanadas(!). Monday thru Thursday specials. Place is sparse and cute, live music on Saturday is advertised.

A cute space with charming service! Enjoyed passion fruit mojitos to start. Excellent. Then the shrimp Mofongo and Beef churrasco. Both deliciously prepared. Only reco: thickened garlic and xxx sauces. Other than that minor detail, really enjoyed overall.

Great service and delicious hispanic food. The coffee was all delicious as well and there were plenty of options. The sandwiches were served on great bread with plenty of meat and veggies. The steak sandwich that we got was cooked perfectly, which for me is hard to find as most places usually overcook them.
The atmosphere and decor inside was comfortable and very well designed.
Bathrooms were clean and nicely maintained as well.
The seasoning of the food was a touch on the lighter side for me, but still great quality none the less!

This restaurant is a real treat! I went on a Friday night and I only had an hour, which was a mistake. It’s a small family restaurant and each dish is created with care and artistic flare, so it takes a while. The kitchen is very slow, so only go when you have time to sit and enjoy the beautiful decor, a nice beverage and relax before you have a meal that will wow your taste buds!
This was my first time trying mofongo and I loved it! Such an explosion of flavor with garlic and cilantro. I got the steak which also had such a delicious charred flavor on the outside, but juicy and fatty inside.
I had to get my meal to go because I couldn’t wait any longer, but I look forward to returning and enjoying the whole experience.
