We were in the area for vacation. We have two teenagers who are sometimes particular about where they want to eat. However, we all loved it! The food was delicious. Our server was so sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere was great.
We had:
Frog legs with green beans and mac and cheese,
Fried catfish with green beans and potato salad,
Bacon cheese burger with fries and Cole slaw,
Grilled chicken sandwich with fries and Cole slaw.
Some extras we got were biscuits and gravy as well as fried banana peppers.

On a weekend get a way in Stanton, KY we choose this Mom and Pop dinner in the small town of, Irvin, KY. Not a lot of parking but we did find a spot. Breakfast was what you would expect from a small town country dinner. I had the Ride& Shine breakfast with biscuit and gravy. Eggs were cooked as I ordered, sausage and biscuits& gravy were good. The fried potatoes weren’t what I expected, they looked more like home fries to me and I chose to pass on those. Coffee was good and hot but would have been better with liquid creamer instead of powdered. They serve breakfast all day and the lunch/dinner menu seemed to have all the fixins you look for in small country cookin. Service was good, she was young and did an excellent job performing server duties but it felt lacking in making us feel welcome. I’m sure she will do better in time. Over all was a nice breakfast. I would recommend if you’re in the area looking for Mom and Pop cooking.

I was on a day trip with my children, and I didn’t want another chain restaurant. We were so lucky to find this place!!! The food was great. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the lady that took care of us was wonderful. We will def be back.
Cons: I couldn’t tell if the restaurant was open or if it had closed down. I’m sure to locals they know it’s open but the sign by the road is faded and the sign in on the door is confusing. If they had a door sticker with the business name and hours it would give it a professional look and help us outsiders 🙂 also, a little touch up paint to the sign by the road would brighten it up and dissolve all doubt, when people are passing through. We will absolutely be back!

Heard about this lil family restaurant on Facebook and was excited to try it as we travel around the state trying all the lil “hole in the wall” restaurants. Based on what I saw and read on FB I was really expecting a great meal. We called in our order to go. Ordered the following: Fried Bologna Sandwich Box- upgrade to Onion rings and suppose to come with Cole Slaw, also ordered the Meatloaf dinner with Broccoli casserole and Scalloped Potatoes… Food was ready pretty quick and the lady on the phone was very nice. Got there a few minutes early to use the rest room after a long day of travel.. The rest room was in poor shape. It did have toilet paper and paper towels and soap, and didn’t smell bad, but it did look dirty on the walls, outlets, light switch and the door. Also the toilet paper roll was sitting on back of toilet and empty rolls etc strewn about. Stopped at the counter to pickup our food and paid just under $20 for the order. Got our food, in the Styrofoam boxes, tied up in a Walmart sack. Also, when I asked for forks, I was told they were out so they gave me spoons… They were friendly so that’s good.. The overall restaurant looked ok, but behind the counter it looked quite messy and lots of crock pots etc with some dishes stacked up on the counter etc.. I was beginning to wonder if we really wanted to eat this food by this point, but decided to give them a try because they did have some Great reviews…. ok, so we parked next to the restaurant (did Takeout because my mother is disabled and couldn’t walk into the restaurant) and opened our food to eat. First off the onion rings looked a bit burnt but they did give a big quantity, and they tasted pretty good. The bologna sandwich was not good though. It was served on a large bun and was very thin. When I imagine a fried bologna sandwich I think of a nice thick piece of bologna… They didn’t give me cole slaw, even though i ordered the box combo… my mother’s review on the meatloaf meal.. 1st impression was that it was a huge serving, and would have easily fed her for at least 2 meals which she liked. She did say that the meatloaf tasted like cereal-grain texture and didnt taste like real beef. The scalloped potatoes were tough and appeared to just be under cooked but looked nice and cheesy. And the broccoli casserole was ok, but presentation was kinda mushy.. It was also served with a dinner roll. Had she liked any of this, it would have actually been a pretty good deal for just $10…. Being as she really didnt like any of the meal and was hungry, she called into the restaurant and asked if she could bring back the meal and get something else? She was told that the meatloaf is very popular and that everyone liked it. However with that said, they said she could order something else and bring it back in. So she decided to order the Biscuit with a side of Sourgum molasses, and an order of Biscuits and Gravy. It was ready pretty fast which was nice. They gave it to us in a Save a lot bag this time, still with no utensils either. We were again told how good and popular the meatloaf was to others, and were not offered a refund or a price adjustment as the 2nd order would not have been as expensive according to the menu. So took this order out to my mother and we opened the 1st box and it was a basic Biscuit with a lil bowl of molasses. And the 2nd box has 2 open faced Biscuits and a ton of hot gravy. It was again a very good serving. Tasted pretty good. I also asked where my slaw was and they said they missed that and didnt ring it up as such so I guess I can’t have it due to that? Oh well, not the end of the world. Overall we are giving them 2 stars because the order was pretty quick and the staff were friendly. I really wish we had a better experience as we wanted to love it. Perhaps they were just having an off day…

I absolutely love Bobbies. I’m a local and this is my favorite treat on the weekends. For those of you looking for the perfect small town diner, this is it. Breakfast all day and all the classic southern meat and three options you could wish for. Incredibly fair pricing and the best atmosphere.

Food always tastes fantastic!! Timing im sure but the flies at my window did get on my nerves. Definitely recommend something to get rid of them. The rest of the restaurant was all clean and stuff. Food is always hot and good! Thanks for a good place to eat!

there is absolutely no gloves being worn at all while the food was being prepared. If you looked one minute someone’s food is being held bare handed being dressed and next minute they’re holding personal items. Screams germs and cross contamination. It was busy but you could very much tell the cook and waitress was very overwhelmed and cook seemed to have been taking it out on the waitress and just felt like we listened to someone treating their coworker poorly. The food looked good that we were served but was tasteless. The sides were cold. Also felt mislead being given a menu with so many meal options then told half of it wasn’t available I’d rather have a menu given of the food that would be served that day not the food that possibly could have been served.

First time there, traveling through after a family members funeral. If you’re able stop in you won’t be disappointed. The only bad thing about this place is choosing what to order. Great country food and service, and the price is very reasonable. It’s a good thing I live 3 hours away or I would be putting on a lot of weight. It’s a small place, but you should definitely stop in with the family, or just yourself. When I’m in the area again I will definitely make sure, maybe even detour to eat there again. Keep doing what you’re doing there ladies. WOW . Only spent a little over $30, for three very healthy appetites, with extras.
