Small portions for the price. Not sure if it was the time of the day I ordered or what. My jerk chicken bowl was 1/3 empty. Chicken didn’t have much seasoning and the sweetness was overpowering. I paid extra- I think $5.50- for a side of plantains but didn’t think I was going to get a pitiful portion of fried plantains. Plantains tasted good and so did the rice and beans so it wasn’t all a bust. Just disappointing for someone who was excited to find a local Jamaican spot.

If you love real Jamican barbecue, the kind that hits you with that smoky aroma the second you walk through the door, Bibbie Que in West Bloomfield is an absolute must.
From the moment the food hits the table you can tell this isn’t average BBQ. The meats are slow-smoked, tender, and packed with flavor. The Ox Tails melt-in-your-mouth good, the ribs have that perfect bark and fall right off the bone, and the catfish is juicy with just the right amount of crunch. Every bite tastes like it came straight out of a pitmaster’s passion project.
What really sets Bibbie Que apart is the attention to detail. The sides aren’t an afterthought like most barbecue spots, the plantains and rice are full of flavor, and the cornbread is the perfect balance of sweet and savory with a little kick.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and authentic. You feel like you’re at a neighborhood spot where the owners genuinely care about the food and the people walking through the door.
If you’re anywhere near West Bloomfield and craving Jamaican barbecue, do yourself a favor and stop by Bibbie Que. It’s the kind of place where one visit turns into many because once you try it, you’ll keep coming back for more.
⭐ 10/10 – Incredible BBQ, great atmosphere, and easily one of the best Jamaican barbecue spots in the area.

I ordered the oxtail. The meat was sliced into very small pieces and the stew was somewhat watery. Other than that, the flavoring was great and it had a very slight kick to it.

5/5 Extremely delayed review, but LOVE the food here and I’m so grateful to have a nearby Jamaican restaurant that I can rely on. My goat curry was tender and among the best I’ve had in terms of flavor. ♥️ Each side dish was a bonus of deliciousness. Back when we picked up the order, everybody was super personable and polite. I love supporting these kinds of small businesses. Looking forward to our next order at Bobbie Que’s!

I work overnight shifts, so I usually order ahead through DoorDash and pick up my food on the way out. Tonight I ordered the Gumbo, Patties, and Jerk Chicken.
**Gumbo:**
The gumbo was very flavorful and packed with sausage, chicken, rice, and vegetables. It wasn’t overly spicy and had a generous amount of protein—you can tell it’s homemade and not skimpy at all. Even after sitting in the container for a few hours, the rice held up well and stayed tender, not mushy.
**Patties:**
Unfortunately, the patties were missing from my bag, so I can’t rate them. I’m hoping to try them on my next visit.
**Jerk Chicken:**
I originally ordered the oxtail dinner, but it wasn’t going to be ready until 5 PM, so I switched to the jerk chicken. I’m glad I did—the chicken was cooked perfectly with great seasoning, flavor, and just the right amount of heat. The sauce on the side added a nice sweet heat and definitely enhanced the dish, although the chicken was good enough to stand on its own.
The meal came with rice and two sides: Turnip & Collard Greens and Macaroni & Cheese. The greens were very tender and quite wet, with carrots mixed in, which I really enjoyed. They leaned more sweet than vinegary, but the liquid was so good that I poured my rice into it to soak up all the flavor. The mac and cheese was decent, but since I ate it a few hours after pickup, the cheese had stiffened. It could use a bit more salt and white pepper, and I’m sure it would be much better fresh.
The jalapeño cornbread was amazing—sweet but not too sweet, with just enough heat from the jalapeños to balance the jerk chicken perfectly.
Overall, I would definitely go back and try more items from the menu.

I stopped in 1x over this past Spring but was back in the area and decided I needed to reward my pallet. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious just as good as I remembered. The young gentlemen at the counter were friendly and professional and I appreciated that as well. I noticed they had a food truck in the parking lot as I was leaving….I’ll be looking out for that this Summer!
I will definitely be back

My friend and I came out to try them because I really had a taste for some ox tails so we wanted to try them out. The ox tails were so good . My sides were Mac and cheese and Red beans and rice. The Mac and cheese was delicious, if you like cheesy Mac this is for you . The rice I was not a fan of . It was dry and like paste . I didn’t get corn bread like my friend ☹️. She ordered fried chicken and a loaded ox tail baked potato. She said both were good . I’ll go back again and try something else. The woman working yesterday was great! She was new and she was trying her best to get those orders out of the kitchen, she kept us posted on what was going on with our orders. She was very friendly, funny and I just loved her energy. I know for sure I’m returning. I’ll have to see if the door dash to my area
I wish they had space to eat there. It’s not a sit down restaurant

Stopped by for a carryout Saturday evening. Jerk chicken, plantains, & cornbread. All very delicious. Friendly staff. However, waited over 45 min. Though no one was in the restaurant at time of order. They definitely need to improve on time. Highly recommend you call in order an hour before pick up as they were just that slow.

My oxtail stew was amazing. The sides omg truly tasty. I had the oxtail stew with white rice, cabbage, baked beans, potato salad, greens, macaroni n cheese n jalapeño corn bread. I know I sound greedy n I am but im 102pnds n on a feeding tube so hush. My husband had the Jamaican jerk chicken n mac n cheese. We both loved it but because he doesn’t eat vegetables I picked his sides n ate everything but not all in one day. The next day it was even better. I was in the hospital getting a feeding tube placed but I can still eat n baby I did. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I will be back! It was all perfectly made. The wait was worthwhile. Nice sized oxtail and portions. Yummy!

Very bad experience. My plantains were burnt, the customer service was horrible, and the wait time was ridiculous. I love to support small business but this is outrageous I will make sure not to come here again, portions are way to small for what we’re paying, my plantains were 5.50 and they gave me about five small pieces of plantains. Don’t come here they play in your face about your food and your money.
