Service was good but employees need education on their menu. Ordered the lemon garlic chicken and steak tip combo. The menu clearly states it comes with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli for a price of $18.78. They proceeded to upcharge $2 for the loaded mashed potatoes. When I brought this to their attention, I was told this was automatic in their system. They didn’t offer to make the proper correction. So I reflected it in the tip.
Food was not what we expected. Three of our group had chicken which was very tough. The platter of dinner rolls (6) had perhaps been on the warming tray for too long as the rolls were hard, tough, and had to be cut with a steak knife.

We went for breakfast on a Saturday at my husband’s request, neither of us have ever eaten breakfast at a Bob Evan’s and I haven’t eaten there at all in at least 20 years. To my absolute surprise, we had an amazing experience! I read reviews of our specific Marion location and saw more negative than positive, so I was not very hopeful. Our server was not overly nice, but she was attentive and got everything correct and made sure we didn’t sit waiting for anything for too long. The food was outstanding, the restaurant was very clean. Overall we had an excellent experience and we will be back! If you’re on the fence, give it a shot!

Recently I ate at the Bob Evens in Marion IL. The food was good. I ate the eggs, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits with gravy. The staff was: very fast, polite, and the food prep was quick. My coffee was refilled quickly. The empty plates were taken quickly. The restaurant has a good menu. The restroom was: clean, well maintained, and stocked. I would recommend the Bob Evens in Marion IL to my family, friends, and co-workers.

Hostess seated us right away (Thank you). About 10 minutes later she came by and asked if anyone had taken our drink order. We said no. She came right back and took the drink order.. and went to waiter/server area and told them our drink order. About 5 minutes later we were told they didn’t have the carmel mocha. A few minutes we got our waters. Server took our order, but was not sure if the resturant had some of the items, as “they didn’t yesterday.” About 21 minutes later we got most of our food(from a different server), minus the breads. Our original server then brought us the rest of the biscuits.(We had ask for jelly)

Again, service was the problem. We were able to find our server to ask for more water and the check.
One of us immediately went up to pay for the meal, while the other two finished, nervous no one would be at the counter.

Can’t really give a 1 star but seating was prompt. Order taken promptly. We had breakfast after church on Sunday. It took an hour to get our order – everything was cold. Biscuits were hard as rocks. Order must have been sitting there. Usually good food but this time terrible.

Bob Evans Review: Disappointing and Lazy
I don’t know what happened to Bob Evans, but they clearly don’t take any pride in how their food is presented anymore. It feels like they’ve just given up. The eggs? Pathetic. What I got barely filled a spoon — and for the price they charge, it’s a joke. You’d think with how simple eggs are, they’d at least get that right. But no, they were bland, overcooked, and looked like they were slapped on the plate by someone who just doesn’t care.
The portion size was an insult. For what I paid, I expected a real meal, not scraps that looked like they were thrown together in five seconds. There’s zero effort, zero pride, and absolutely no value for your money. It’s like they assume customers won’t notice how far the quality has dropped — but I noticed, and I won’t be back.
