On the way to Hendersonville, we stopped at the Bob Evans in Hickory. The food, prices and service were great. My Sister Pea and I ordered a Dinner Bell Special for only $8.99 each. These are slightly smaller portions but still ample. You also get a choice of roll, Texas toast or banana bread. Yes, banana bread! My Bubba Bean ordered the Honey Butter Chicken and Biscuit. Everything was delicious. I also bought a T-shirt that said Body By Bacon. It’s a real shame our Greensboro location closed.

This Bob Evans is nice and clean. It always feels crowded in the waiting area, then you get a table and see a bunch of tables open. Maybe they were short on servers at the time i was there. The food was pretty good. The bacon was way under cooked. I ate one piece and brought two home so i could cook them to my liking. The biscuits were ok.. it seems they changed their recipe from what i remembered. It tasted very floury. The gravy was good. The pancake was the best. The coffee was good. My server Rachel was very good. She took care of two big tables as well as other tables with two and four customers at each plus my one single table. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at Bob’s. I think it might be a while longer before i go back. The prices are really high for what you get. It was $23 dollars by myself. Go try it out. Enjoy

Honestly if I could give this restaurant zero Stars I would. But since I can’t it’s time to be brutally honest. Me and my family visited this restaurant Saturday December 13th 2025. Now mind you there wasn’t but a total of 9 tables in the entire place. We waited over 20 minutes before any food was brought to the table and also the only food that made it in that 20 minutes was rolls. And also my food came out cold and pink in the middle and it was completely unedible. We waited a total of 35 minutes for our actual food to come out like that. And then I had to hunt down my server to even get the check because she was too busy in the kitchen cutting up with the cook. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
Update to my previous review: Me and my family visited this restaurant again today 12/27/2025 around 320ish and were quite pleased with our service this go round. Our server Alana was pleasent and very friendly. Also a shout-out to manager Jamie for going above and beyond to see we were treated correctly. The food was amazing and cooked properly and we didn’t have a very long wait. Please keep up the amazing service Jamie and Alana. Me and my family will definitely be returning.

The food here was delicious! I love their biscuits! The stew was very tender, the soup was great, and the peanut butter pie was phenomenal! Great atmosphere and the service was really good! I will certainly come back again!

Husband and I eat here when we’re in Hickory and are wanting good breakfast food The food from the breakfast menu is consistently good and freshly prepared. The servers are usually attentive, though it seems like there may be a shortage of staff during high traffic times, which carries over to the quality of service in both general attitude and attentiveness. Overall, the atmosphere is bright and pleasant; however, some of the tables and seating, including the booth seating, are very worn and could use some updating for comfort and looks.

Edit; just ordered a meal to go and it was nothing but problems. Sent my daughter to pick it up and the lady was very rude. She noticed the order wasn’t right and it took them 30 min to get it right and they treated my daughter like it was her fault. So after getting home with cold food, I noticed there was food missing. So the order was still wrong. The food is always good here but not as good microwaved. Won’t be back for awhile. We do love Bob Evans tho. Hopefully management will read this and understand they have a problem.

This was always our go to place when my husband was alive. We went at least 2-3 times week. It was a little pricey, but the food was always great and the service wonderful.We knew the managers and the waitstaff. A lot has changed in the last few years. This particular time, I called two days early to tell them we would be coming in at eleven thirty with a group of 8 to 10 people. BUT we had to wait, sitting in the lobby, while they ARRANGED the table in separate room for 30 minutes. (I repeatedly told them we were on a tight schedule and needed to eat to be able to leave by one.) We will finally seated at 12
And they took their own sweet time about coming back to order. Also, were out of a couple things… namely fried chicken. We were finally served at almost 1 o’clock. I had thought I was gonna have to box it up before it ever came so we could leave. One lady’s eggs over medium were almost raw and had to send back. Note: if the restaurant had been packed and they were trying their best to keep up, i would have understood. But that was not the case. It wasn’t particularly busy. No lunch hour rush. All and all this is our second bad experience with a group here in the last couple years, and maybe our last.

First review I have felt the need to leave. Rude customer to waitress was unbelievably off putting to sit near. Not only chased her down for what seemed unnecessary and rudely speaking, but the man also threw up on the table and left it??! This occurred to the waitress but also was rude to manager when they seemed to make things better and left without cleaning the throw up on the table was the icing on top! Unbelievable treatment to staff when the service was excellent and I cannot believe these people are allowed to dine in. Hoping something gets done about these people, as it is very uncomfortable to be sitting near and a business should not allow this treatment if they care not just about staff but clients!!
