As of November 2024, Bob and Edith’s Diner Celebrated OVER 55 years of outstanding service to Columbia Pike, Arlington County and the entire Washinton, D.C. area. A third-generation (Greg and Victoria’s children Tammy and Chris) have begun to assume the controls of the 24/7 diner with the ever-present leadership of their father. The diner continues to be a Dallas Cowboys supporter which stimulates never-ending good-natured debates among staff and patrons.
Well-known 24/7 mainstay offering classic diner fare such as sandwiches in an old-school setting.

I’ve loved Bob and Edith’s for over 15 years. However, this location just took it up a notch. The service was blazing fast. The interior is squeaky clean. However, it was the food that stole the show. My steak omelet and my kid’s B&E Burger were the BEST we’ve had since coming to any Bob and Edith’s. I know this is a new location, but I hope they can keep everything to such a high standard.

We had a disappointing experience at B&E’s. First, how the heck are two diet sodas over $7.00?!! My pancake was undercooked and tasted like raw batter, which I sent back and didn’t bother to replace. The hashbrowns were very bland, and no amount of hot sauce could help it. The French toast at least came out thick and fluffy and properly cooked. The bacon was also pretty good. My country fried steak was just okay, but the sausage gravy was visually unappetizing and on the sweeter side. My son liked his cheeseburger because it tasted like McDonald’s. The decaf coffee tasted sour, but then I don’t go to diners to try their coffee because it all tastes like diner coffee. I’ve tried other B&E’s, and they’re not much better. If you want a good breakfast, go anywhere else.

I live across the country and recently flew in for my daughter’s wedding . She took us to breakfast here and immediately I was greeted and sat down! My server was Camryn and she was just delightful! She was nothing but smiles and treated us like family ! The food was amazing and piping hot. Camryn was super friendly and helped me decide on a fantastic meal. Will definitely come here again. She is so sweet! Thank you again Camryn ❤️!!!!!!!!

Love this little diner. I like to treat myself every now and again on a Saturday or Sunday and go out for breakfast. Can’t go wrong with their ham and cheese omelette with sausage and potatoes

Camryn was our server and she was friendly, sweet and fast. She actually cared about whether we were enjoying ourselves. The food is fine for a quick bite, atmosphere is like any other diner (except this one’s super clean), and the service is fantastic.

We just love BOB AND EDITH’S. The newest HILLTOP LOCATION ON BEULAH STREET ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA IS SUPER SWEET. It is located on the corner opposite of Wegman’s and across the street from BURTON’S. My chili bowl warmed me up on this cold day. I also appreciated my cheese steak sandwich and coffee. As always, BOB AND EDITH’S DINER PULLS THROUGH PROVIDING EXCELLENT FOOD, SERVICE, AND A VERY FUN ATMOSPHERE.

Back in the day, I used to frequent the first diner they opened. This is the newest in the chain, it just opened. It is 24/7 right now. Perfect for shift workers like I used to be. I like that it is nothing fancy, just decent food at a reasonable price. A go to for me is breakfast all day.

I will forever be a fan of Bob and Ediths but the management today (12/28/25)@ 12:12 pm was absolutely one of the most horrendous experiences I have ever encountered and I come from the hospitality industry.
The asked to speak with the manager in reference to the server Andrea C that was taking the order.($75 dollars worth and a tip was included more than 20%)
I was very humble explaining that I love the food but it would’ve been in the best practices of the server if she could read the order back(especially if there is a language barrier for the server not the customer)
Everything my daughter ordered was wrong)
The managers answer was that I should be the responsible party and ask her to repeat the order…manager you were standing right beside her and watched her fumble the whole order but proceeded to tell me that the servers are busy (4 to 5 couples in the restaurant no 8 tops or 10 tops) and they do to go orders as well…when I asked him if this was his excuse he became very mad , crossed his arms and walked around the restaurant with an attitude. (Body language was terrible) Combative at his best when in conversation.
I never once said the server was bad I just simply offered a suggestion…his rudeness was unacceptable
One associate Steven I believe assisted and apologized for his managers rude behavior and the terrible ending
The.manger was brazen enough to say he could cancel my order but never mentioned giving my tip back..go figure..lol
I kept my order because the cooks worked hard and that wouldn’t be fair to them…next time the tip will go all they way to the cooks and Steven.
Also he was talking to the server in Spanish about me which was very inconsiderate
Train your managers better to listen empatheticaly to the customer and maybe this review would have been better..
Manager stood by the door with his back to us and never even said Good bye…Terrible Hospitality

I am a regular at another diner, but I was grocery shopping and seen that they had one right next to the grocery store so I popped in breakfast. Let me just say the staff were nice. I do have to say that I did not enjoy my breakfast. My pancakes were cold. The grits were not warm at all. Everything just was not up to par. I always asked for hot syrup for my pancakes, even that was hot warm. It was just a bland overall experience. I wouldn’t visit this location again. I think I’ll just stick to my regular diner that I go to by my place.
