A pleasant suprise. We ordered the calamari, loaded potato skins and clam chowder from the Happy Hour menu. While the calamari portion was quite small, it was still good value as it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. It was served with a chipotle mayonaise/sauce and also some cocktail sauce. Chipotle was too overpowering for this delicate and tender dish; my only suggestion would be some salt on the lovely light batter.

As for the potato skins, the were more akin to a half-end baked potato with all the toppings; making less greasy; so that was a plus.

As for the chowder? It was pretty flavorsome, although a little gluppy…. but not bad!! Although the chowder was not on par with Lure’s (thats had to beat).

The venue was pub-like in that it was dark and smelled of beer but the harborside location was fab.

Overall everything was fairly priced, service was good. I would definitely come back and try this place for dinner.

Delicious food and such a cute atmosphere! I got the tofu tacos, and they were so good. I also really appreciate having actual vegetarian options. We were told the owner is very involved, which is always a good thing and means they actually care about the business.

We stopped by here about 6:30pm after a day trip to the Channel Islands on a weekday. It wasn’t crowded. We sat at the bar. The service was excellent. The food was really good. I had the Hawaiian Poke Bowl and my husband had the chowder and fish and chips. Both were excellent. Would definitely go back.

This was our first time here and we loved it. The food was great and the service was even better. I had the Biscuits and gravy and it was delicious. Even my picky eating children ate all of their food, which never happens. If you are in the area I recommend it.

The Boatyard Pub at Ventura Harbor is one of my favorite spots! The atmosphere is laid-back with a beautiful harbor, and the service always makes you feel welcome. Their happy hour from 4–6 is perfect for relaxing with a drink and some bites, and the Wednesday steak and lobster dinner is incredible—definitely a midweek highlight. Great food, great vibes, and a place I always look forward to coming back.

I regularly go to the Boatyard Pub for multiple reasons. It’s the perfect location and vibe for a casual chill after working onbthe fishing boat all day/ week- I don’t have to walk far to get to a place that often feels like Cheers. Everybody DOES know your name. The food is always good and I have yet to have a bad dish, with the taste and portion size being perfect for someone who is discerning and burns calories. The staff makes me feel like family… they ARE family. I don’t drink anymore, but when I did, the drinks were poured well. The prices are at first glance may appear on the spendy side for such a casual atmosphere, but that’s only at first glance, and once it’s considered the portion size, the quality, the location, you really can’t expect them to be lower. The Pub is dog friendly and will bring out water for your pooch and also have chicken and rice or steak and rice bowls that are dog healthy.
For breakfast, the huevos rancheros, the chicken fried steak and eggs, the burritos (there’s some heft there), the omelets are all in my rotation. For lunch and dinner, try the parmesian beef tacos, the fish and chips, the steak. The clam chowder is the best in the harbor. My favorite appetizer is the balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts.

All the food was delicious! Service was poor and unwelcoming.
A party of 3, including myself, walked in during a busy night and asked for a table. Both the bartender and a server looked at each other and one said how they close the kitchen in an hour. We asked if we could still get a table and one said sure, but we close soon.
Honestly, as a first impression it was really disappointing, because we saw photos on Google and they really looked good! We were looking forward to eating here.
We were sat and our server was friendly, definitely not like those other two.
Food was excellent. Hot brewed coffee was great for the cold night! ☕️ Coffee mugs were super unique. Steamed clams were my favorite with the white wine broth, fresh parsley and lemon! Fish and chips were breaded perfectly. Shrimp and chips were large and delicious!
Poor service made the atmosphere feel not so enjoyable. Some employees definitely come off like they don’t want to be there.

Been here many times but always lunch or dinner which is great, but breakfast this morning was 10 out of 10. Really. Biscuit and gravy breakfast was spot on, from the gravy to the biscuits, a pile of what looked like 4 eggs perfectly scrambled, excellent O’Brian potatoes and sausage patties. Came close but couldn’t quite finish it trying to help the wife with her Canadian bacon that came with her avocado toast breakfast. The steaming hot Royale coffee was also two big thumbs up with real cream served. One of the best breakfasts in the area for sure.

Sometimes you’re just obligated to leave a review based on the experience you had…

Obviously they were understaffed and had a line of waiting patrons out the door, so I appreciate that, however— nothing excuses making someone wait an hour to pay their bill, it’s like being held hostage, it’s very frustrating, and it’s unacceptable.

I do not blame the wait staff, but the management, this was a complete failure in terms of what a restaurant experience should be.

That’s not even getting into the fact that my plate was missing items it was supposed to come with that I paid for…

When I went to find SOMEONE to process my bill, they tried to send me to the bar to have it settled.

I sympathize greatly with the staff who work here, if this is how paying customers are treated, I can only imagine the workers…

This place was such a relief from the heat out in Santa Clarita. The food and service were great. We sat outside on the patio and listened to some great live music. Highly recommend when in Ventura.
