Raining and starving, perfect timing, reservation required. The table is ready, as are the servers. Right away, they greeted us with warmth and a welcome! The food is great, and there are so many choices on the menu. The seafood salad is a must, with a reasonable portion. Highly recommend.

The place seems a bit dated, but the food is the star here. And the service is superb. We ordered sweet and fiery Shrimp and mushrooms dish from appetizers it was delicious and their grouper was so well seasoned and very well cooked.

Bluegrass’s hugh menu is complex, offering well prepared meals to fit most dietary requirements. The dining room’s unique decor is highlighted with dozens of broken mirrors buried in the rough plaster. Service is first rate.

The server, who fills water glasses, performs an amazing pour. Filling the glasses about a foot or so above the rim. The water’s ark is impressive. He never spilled a drop.

There are four of us. One ordered a skirt steak. He found it well prepared, grilled medium rare. The accompanying fries were crisp and hot. He shared the fries with his wife who shared her salad with him. She ordered the burger and ate about half. Boxed up hey took the rest home.

My wife ordered teriyaki chicken with rice and beans. She enjoyed every bite and also took half as a carry out.

I ordered the vegan jambalaya with the addition of chunks of an Impossible Burger. The meal was large and quite spicy. I enjoyed every bite and, quite honestly, I finished it.

My companions ordered two glasses of a wine they had enjoyed on vacation. The bartender came to our table and suggested they get a split thus saving them a few dollars.

Our server is knowledgeable with the menu and made helpful situations. The restaurant’s manager came to our table asking, if we were pleased with the food and service. We were.

A fun restaurant with a unique decor, excellent service, and delicious food. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND SUPERB FOOD! Joel was a great waiter, knowledgeable and courteous. We met the owner and what a nice LADY! A bit pricey but worth it! The only negative thing is that it is very far from where we live My hubby had the Jambalaya, shots of gumbo and chicken tortilla soup, baked beans and green beans. I had the 1/2 slab of ribs and baked beans. The moscato wine is so sweet! They served us a complimentary ice box pie.. delicious.

Hidden (location wise) gem, but always packed. Good bar and food is amazing. Mardi Gras menu is best in Chicagoland.

We came here on Valentine’s Day with our in-laws. We had a 430 reservation but it got crowded pretty quickly. Our server, Ricardo, was excellent. Not only was he very attentive, he was very familiar with the menu and had some great recommendations. We had the appetizer trio which was very good. The alligator bites were huge. We all had delicious entrees. The chicken & shrimp with dirty rice was excellent, especially because I ordered it extra spicy. They had a nice beer and wine selection too. We put this on our list of places to come back to.

The owner is delightful! She sent an app over for our patience waiting for a table (had a reservation)… the Brisket platter was skimpy on brisket-it was some chopped pieces on a piece bread.. but tasty. I thought
it would be sliced pieces, etc.. my friends’ walleye and salmon were delicious and good-portioned!.. Dessert was good!- would’ve liked a flame-but that’s ok..

Great food and wonderful change of atmosphere from our usual go-to restaurants! The crab cake was outstanding — one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly seasoned with a great texture. The fried fish was good as well; the sauce really elevated the flavor and made the dish memorable. For dessert, the bananas foster was exceptional — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only thing that fell a bit short was the water, which had an odd taste, but otherwise the service and atmosphere were excellent. I’d definitely return, especially for the crab cake and dessert!

Discovered this place by accident.
We were in the neighborhood and lunch was needed and I am glad we found this gem. The food was amazing!! Our server was awesome! Can’t wait to go again!!
I can’t say that about many other places… This is a diamond in the rough. I would give it 10 stars! A reservation is recommended.

We stopped in for dinner after work on a Tuesday. I had done a search to find gumbo in the area. They have a wonderful selection of food including BBQ and seafood. The food had a definite southern and Cajun influence. The gumbo was delicious. We also had the shrimp and grits and the grouper. Everything was delicious. We sat inside, but they have outside seating available too. I highly recommend this wonderful local restaurant and I also recommend making a reservation if you’re coming on a weekend. It was packed even for a Tuesday!
