Very cute, family-style sushi restaurant in the beautiful South Pasadena neighborhood. Paul is one of the most dedicated, craftsman-like chefs I’ve ever met, and you can truly taste the care and attention he puts into every roll he makes.
The spicy salmon roll is my favorite, and the Rainbow roll includes three or more types of fish in each piece. Absolutely delicious!

Lovely little sushi spot in beautiful downtown South Pasadena. Sushi was fresh and delicious, Tako Wasabi was stand out! Only a few tables in there, we had a reservation for a Wednesday night but did not seem to need one. Will certainly be coming back in and getting take out.

My new secret sushi spot. Absolutely fresh and flavorful fish. Service is a little backed up due to high customer volume. But great sushi and sashimi.
Warning good prices but servings are smaller than most places because the fish is very fresh and high quality and may take some time as does anything good. Only come here if you really appreciate quality sushi.

Such a lovely little spot. A small place with excellent food. Very laid-back atmosphere with a few tables. A couple came in for takeout at the same time we did and we all received our food pretty quickly. We had 3 rolls and all of the fish was fresh and well prepared along with the real fresh ginger and wasabi. Compliments to the chef!

My wife and I have been coming here for years and only recently we decided to hop on the Metro and bring our daughters (1.5 and 4.5 y.o.); this place is an amazing small spot and quite possibly the best South Pasadena sushi spot.
The staff is really nice and there is just something about the chef that makes you like him. They have always been attentive and good with us.
For those who complain about portions, this is definitely not “all you can eat” so don’t expect it because this far exceeds the quality of the AYCE spots by at least a mile.
Try the Chuka Iidako and the Tako Wasabi to start and go with the Salmon Avocado Salad and go from there. Finish off with ice cream down the street

Super tiny, but some of the best sushi I’ve had. I’m definitely going back.

This place is an amazing sushi restaurant the music was lively and the Old man was so sweet. I ordered the catapiler roll and the Philadelphia roll. The atmosphere was great it smelled like the ocean. The seats were comfortable. This is a great place to come after swim practice. If the owner is reading this I want to say thank you for the food. It was delicious.

Great lunch spot. Right next to the metro station. The dragon roll was better than I’ve had at most places. Spicy tuna was also really good.

One of the worst sushi experiences I’ve had in a long time. I never write reviews but I felt this was necessary. I’ve ordered from Bluefin before and didn’t have a great experience so I thought I’d give them another chance. First off, the customer service was terrible. From the phone call to the in store pick-up, it felt almost like they didn’t want us to order from them. It was a weird and very unpleasant experience. Secondly, the prices compared to the amount of food we got was shocking. I know sushi as is is expensive, but we paid 30 dollars for 4 half-full, small boxes of sushi. On top of that, one of the “rolls” was outrageously small. I’ve attached a picture of this roll. We placed a penny and a quarter next to it to show how insanely small it was. This was so upsetting because the other rolls we got were actually really delicious, but the size of them, and this one especially, was so frustrating. Extremely disappointed and never purchasing from here again…

Very cute neighborhood spot. The place is clean and the food is decent. The sushi wasn’t the most flavorful, but it’s very reasonably priced and makes for a healthy meal. The server there was so nice and earnest and provided great service. He was very attentive and polite! Most people seem to get takeout. It’s a very small store, but they have comfortable seating for two parties or so. So when we went, it felt very VIP, like we had reserved the whole place for ourselves :).
