This was my first impression of blue fin. Recommend by a coworker of mine. Got an order of chicken fried rice to-go for lunch. To my surprise I bit straight into a bite with egg shells in it. I tossed it aside not thinking too much of it. Things happen… but as I continued eating my next three bits had eggshell in it too. Super disappointed. Threw the rest of it away.

Bluefin has been mine and my husband’s favorite restaurant for several years now. We even had our rehearsal dinner there. The servers are fantastic, very attentive. Peggy, the manager, has always been so sweet to us. Don’t get me going on the food! It’s always fresh and delicious. They’re always so accommodating to my husband’s allergies as well. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Wife and I met another couple for late lunch and had a nice mix of foods available. I had Sushi dinner, and my wife had Vegetable Medly minus mushrooms. Our dinners came fast, after my soup and salad appetizers, which were terrific! Bonnie ate her meal in a happy silence as I enjoyed my 16 piece Sushi meal. She loved her meal and says it was delicious, was not heavy and tasted terrific. She got a lot too! They don’t skimp on portions! My Sushi was the best I have had in ages! The roll was perfect (California?) and the Nigiri was all terrific! I really loved the Salmon and my favorite, Yellowtail! I tried not to gulp it down, as it was so good I almost couldn’t stand it! Our friends across the table got a Sushi roll dinner, that she enjoyed, and her husband across from me got some Indonesian noodles with shrimp that he enjoyed! He also got a fried shrimp appetizer he shared one or two with me and they were outstanding!

Our server, a young man talking about being in college, was attentive, very helpful in selecting, and was a very good server, which in my mind reflects well on the management! As it was after the lunch hours and before evening, they were kind and let us visit for a time after our meals, and were a kind bunch on the way out. First time visitor. Very casual place. Good prices, and good food. We were very pleased and will come back. Our waitress Lisa, was the bomb. They have quite a few selections and directions to go from Sushi, Rolls, HIbachi, Bowls. Lisa helped map out our first meal, and she crushed it with a Roll, Salad, Soup and a Bowl. Thanks Lisa!!!

This is literally the best takeout in Gainesville. We’ve been going for years and the food and service are consistently wonderful. We’ve tried the Pad See Ew, General Tso, Mongolian Beef, Bing Bang Shrimp, Crab Rangoon, and all the Hibachis offered. They’re seriously all fresh, clean, and absolutely divine.

If you like sushi then you will love Bluefin! Sushi is a specialty but they also offer hibachi grilling, bowls, and plates so anyone should have no problem finding something they prefer. The staff all work hard and are very attentive. Inside the building they have created a positive atmosphere that shows part cultural heritage and part local community friends or partners. They definitely look to be involved in the local community, especially involving children.
Visited again almost a year later and the food is still amazing, hard working staff and a beautifully decorated atmosphere. Very busy but got us seated, food ordered and eating within 25 minutes! Ate here again on 01/18/2024. We did wait for just a few minutes but then got seated. They have a sign up explaining that they are short staffed but we didn’t notice any delay doing our time there. We ordered from the lunch menu and it was a treat because we are typically here for the evening. Turns out the service was as good as the food. Sushi rolls were great, meats were fresh and tasty, veggies were top notch as usual! The ginger salad was perfect, just needed about twice as much! The restaurant is located in a shopping mall near the middle. Parking can be spread out over the entire building but is not as far away as it looks.
