Good food, drinks and service! Dined in the bar area for a relaxing meal after a 5 hour drive arriving into the area. This experience checked off all the boxes. Not our first time here, and it won’t be the last. Started off with the brie appetizer. Super yummy! Could of had another order for the meal. Clams, burger and lobster salad were great! Sit by the window for a true downtown view.

Stopped for late lunch on a Sunday and waited in the lobby for 10 minutes with no hostess around to direct us. We went to the bar and asked and sat in there rather than a table in the dining room. The menu has a wide selection to fit your tastes-including a separate sushi list. The bar tender was attentive and checked in several times and was helpful with the sushi selection. We had SUMMER BERRY SALAD, CALIFORNIA ROLL, NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH, GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH. Everyone said their meals were delicious. I had the salad and the tastes were fantastic mixed together. The Nashville Chicken looked amazing too!

So good. Outstanding service. Even better food. The Brie toast was incredible. The homemade crab cakes were delicious. The outdoor seating area was tight but understandable considering the time of year. Totally recommend.

July 2025: we were visiting the Skaneateles area and wanted to grab a bite to eat downtown. Most of the top rated restaurants that were recommended were either fully booked or closed. We walked past Blue Water Grill and liked that it was on the water and they had one high top table open for two inside, so we took it.

We were seated at a tabletop in the back of the restaurant in a corner across from the back bar. We both felt it was very warm inside the restaurant, it seemed like they didn’t have air conditioning and it was 85 degrees outside. It was uncomfortable for us but we were hungry. The menu was large with a variety of items- from sushi, to hamburgers, to salads, steak, curry, pasta, and more.

We ordered the Classic Napoleon and a few sushi rolls for dinner. I liked the Napoleon because I liked the combination of the pineapple, onion, and avocado. My husband thought it had too much red onion and needed a starch. The maki was okay.

Overall, a nice place to stop if you want a variety of menu options and a decent meal.

Stopped in for cocktails and lunch while visiting the beautiful Skaneateles lake. Our bartender and server Rosalie was awesome, food was good but nothing spectacular, we had the Tuna for an appetizer and shrimp tacos. Views are spectacular, definitely a must visit while in the area.

We love the lobster roll, and the fries are quite good. They can be busy and don’t take reservations for parties of less than six. But, they will take your cell phone number when you arrive and text you when your table’s ready. This allows you time to visit some of the nearby boutiques, or explore the pier and lakeside park. With all the windows in their dining rooms, it can get pretty warm and stuffy on a sunny day. If available, I recommend a table on the outside patio. The service is excellent. UPDATE-1: We returned on a Thursday for lunch and, although it was the peak of the tourist season, we were seated at one of the 7 tables on the outdoor patio within 5 minutes. I very much enjoyed the shrimp po’ boy tacos with the optional addition of taco chips and pico de gallo. The remoulade sauce on the fried shrimp was an excellent pairing, and the tomato salsa with the chips had a pronounced cilantro aroma and tasted as if it had just been prepared. UPDATE-2: Had the Pub Chicken Curry for dinner. Overall, it was nice dish, although if I ordered it again, I would ask if the chef could kick up the heat a bit since it was quite mild. Also, the onions were overcooked and had a mushy consistency. The chicken was tender and moist without detectable fat or grizzle. The meal was filling and the service was excellent. UPDATE-3: Having traveled throughout the Caribbean, I’ve ordered coconut shrimp at a fair number of restaurants. Hence, you can imagine my surprise to find that one of the best preparations of this Caribbean favorite is available right here in Skaneateles at the Blue Water Grill. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the coating was crunchy with lots of toasted coconut. In addition, the accompanying sweet chili dipping sauce was excellent. I highly recommend you try this appetizer on your next visit to the restaurant. My wife also very much enjoyed her appetizer of curried mussels. She took some of it home to pour over angel hair pasta as a second meal. She offered me a taste and, as I’ve noted previously with the pub curry chicken, I found the curry sauce too bland. Unfortunately, the other item I tried for the first time on this visit, the hazelnut cake with vanilla ice cream, was something I wouldn’t order again. UPDATE-4: Tried the triple-berry tart prepared by the nearby Patisserie Bakery. It was served warm with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. An excellent dessert.

We stopped in during the Dicken’s christmas expecting a wait, we were told 45 minutes..not bad. While we were waiting we went to the bar to get a drink and were standing by a high top. Makayla walked by and asked if we were getting drinks or food and told us to grab the High top. Her service was above and beyond..It was busy and she had a smile on her face and made sure we were taken care of. The food came out very quick and was excellent. Drinks were good as well.. Thanks for the great time and please let server know she made our day.

While the food is average, this is not a seafood restaurant. The only fish on the menu is ahi, mahi-mahi, and salmon. My salmon BLT was mediocre, with overcooked bacon, a wilted leaf of lettuce, and a thin tasteless slice of tomato, plated on a cheap hamburger bun. My guests had better food. The ahi was wonderful, and the gorgonzola was good. The baked brie was not baked brie, it was brie slices (you can’t slice baked brie unless you chill it) that were melted on a bread slice with a slice of apple, very sweet balsamic sauce over the top, with a candied pecan on top — you could barely taste the brie.

We made reservations ahead of time, yet were seated at the worst table in the house. As a party of five, we had an extra chair added to a table for four, and the fifth chair sat in the very heavily trafficked aisle in the busiest part of the dining room. The person seated in that fifth chair heard all the noise of the dining room bar, the conversations between servers and guests, and the noise of clattering dishes, and was thus unable to hear most of the conversation with their fellow diners.

The server for our table was also the bartender, and provided us minimal service, with long waits for what we needed.

This is definitely a caveat emptor restaurant, which can be decent uf you want a salad, a burger, or some wings. It was a serious disappointment given our expectation that it offered and served good seafood.
