So, I wanted a rooftop bar/restaurant experience so I looked into a few places and decided on the Blue Tuba. I arrived on a Friday a little after noon and the parking, while not having a large lot, had plenty of available spaces.

I went in through the automatic door entrance and walked upstairs to the second floor eating area. I was greeted immediately and was seated at the rooftop in view of the Heights. Their menu had a plethora of options, including European dishes with a “Texan” flair, but their brunch selection is what really caught my eye.

I ordered the Polish Breakfast and a cocktail. The cocktail came out first and it was delicious. It was delightfully fruity without being cloying and not too boozy tasting. The main dish then came out in short order and was just as tasty as the cocktail. The potato hash was a bit greasy but, but decadence was the order of the day so I enjoyed it. The Polish kiolbasa was sliced, had a smoky flavor to it, and complemented the assortment of onions and pepper in the dish. To truly make it breakfast, it had two fried eggs, done to your liking, plus a side salad. All in all, my meal was great, the service was impeccable, and the view was beautiful.

I would highly recommend Blue Tuba if you want interesting Euro-Tex fusion with a great view!

Blue Tuba is easily one of Houston’s best hidden gems — the kind of place you almost want to keep secret, but it’s too good not to share. From the moment you walk in, it feels charming and intimate, with a cozy European café atmosphere that somehow feels worlds away from the city while still being right at home in Houston.

The restaurant is absolutely adorable — warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed — but what truly makes Blue Tuba special is the food. The chef beautifully blends classic European flavors with influences from Czech, German, and Balkan traditions, creating dishes that feel both authentic and fresh. Every plate is rich with flavor, comforting without being heavy, and clearly crafted with passion and attention to detail.

It’s rare to find a place that delivers both a memorable dining experience and food that keeps you thinking about it long after you leave, but Blue Tuba does exactly that. Whether you’re looking for a unique date-night spot or simply want to try something different from Houston’s usual dining scene, this is a must-try restaurant — and very likely to become one of your new favorites.

We love the variety here. We like the brats, the schnitzel, and the various chicken dishes. My kids also always ask for the escargot, whether or not it’s on the menu. They also have a nice second story covered patio, and so far we’ve never had trucks parking. The last time we went, there was some very nice live music, and we all had a great time.

Great food, great vibes, great location. The food was so good and immediately took us back to times we lived in Europe – Bravo! The schnitzel? Perfection! This is a don’t miss in Houston.

We cannot say enough good things about Blue Tuba. The food is great (excellent schnitzel), the location and outdoor patio is lovely, and we love the owners (Ms Giga is so sweet). Very kid friendly. Best patio in the heights, upstairs. Occasional live music. They have gone above and beyond for our family and we love coming here.

Was looking for a new place for lunch with a customer. Walked by the place plenty of times so decided on it. Was not disappointed.
Food was excellent, location and parking very convenient. Although on the 2nd floor they did have an elevator and ramps.
It is a pretty unique restaurant with a European/Texas mix.
Grabbed a seat on the patio overlooking the street, ordered some pirogies, and than the Schnitzel for a main.
It was great, my guest had the goulash and it was very good.
They are dog friendly as well and even have a menu for dogs and live music.
A great place to stop in and get something to eat or a drink.
I didn’t take any pics of the dinner menu but the lunch menu was very good.
Will definitely be back.

And check out that dog menu, I know my hound would be pleased.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch meeting here with the GHC Ladies in Action group. Blue Tuba was a fantastic venue for a group meeting! The food and service were wonderful and there was plenty of space for the ladies to network and present. Would love to return and take advantage of their patio!

An extremely lovely place to eat. Came for Father’s Day dinner and he quite loved it. You can eat/sit out or in. Desserts were quite delicious too. The restaurant is on second floor, but at least an elevator is there and it is pet friendly. They have a menu for dogs. (3 items)

First trip to Blue Tuba and we were very happy with the experience. There were only a couple of customers there during lunch time on Friday, so it’s hard to tell what it is like when it is full, but the music was nice and the staff was friendly. The Mac and Cheese was hands down the winner today. It is dumpling shaped pasta, not pasta filled dumplings, haha! But it was delicious and we could have eaten just that and been happy. The pierogis were fantastic too! I had the burger, which was perfectly cooked on a nice brioche bun. The goulash was tender and the portion was substantive, but it could have used a little something to make it sing. We added some salt flakes from the fries that came with the burger and that really helped balance it out. The cocktail (margarita?) was DELICIOUS. Food was fast, people were friendly, and the price was very reasonable. We’ll definitely go back again, and are considering it for an event because the space was so nice!

I really liked this place, the menu is pretty vast, I wish I had tried the pierogies with sour cream, maybe next time on the appetizer sampler. Got the Serbian minced meat and Mac n cheese with bacon. The pork schnitzel looked good and there were other items that my large party got that looked tasty.
