The drink menu has options for everyone and enough bar staff so your not waiting long. There are over 30 cocktails to choose from and more Taquila options than I thought existed. Plenty of imported beer but the domestic options are the Big 4.
The food menu has all the standard mexican resteraunt options and many of their own adoptions. The menu has many color photos, is well organized, and gave good descriptions of the dishes. I had the Cantina bowl with Carnitas. The portion size was sufficient and the Carnitas are simply delicious. My wife had the Picanha and thought the steak was a little thin for my liking it was perfectly seasoned and prepared. My wife is very finicky on her steak but really enjoyed it. The bacon wrapped shrimp where perfectly cook and the presentation was awsome. The esteraunt was clean and well maintained and Overall this was an enjoyable experience.
My niece got the steak fajitas with a side of rice and beans which she liked. She also got the elote which she loved. However, we ended up asking for a side of tortilla, which doesn’t come with the meal. Tortilla was barely warm which should have been served hot or more on the warmer side.
I had originally asked for the quesadilla meal without the meat which would have been just veggies and cheese, and was told it can’t be done. So, I opted for the bean and cheese chalupa that is served with veggies, and a side of rice and beans. The chalupa shell is a tostada shell that is soft. The only difference between the tostada meal and the chalupa meal is the texture of the shell. I expected the chalupa shell to be slightly thicker and similar to a fry bread. I was not a fan of this meal and wouldn’t recommend it.
As someone who does not eat meat, it would be nice to have the option to order anything on the menu with the exclusion of meat.
You are served with chips ans salsa shortly after you are seated. Salsa bowl is small compared to the amount of chips that us served.
Service was okay, though I felt it could have been better. I understand waiters have other tables to tend to; however, it was not very busy when we dined in. My cup needed a refill and I wanted to give our server the benefit of the doubt. Each time our server passed our table, I assumed he’d stop at our table on his way back to check if we needed anything or maybe he’d see my empty cup at the edge of the table. I had to stop him on the 4th time he passed to request a refill.
I love me some good Mexican food, and though my experience wasn’t great, my niece enjoyed her meal but agreed it could have been better.
Just had the BEST dessert in a silly golden plane. Worth the humiliation.
