I recently ate at The Blue Swan Diner in Oakhurst, NJ, and it really impressed me. Unlike most diners that stick to an older, classic look, this one has a fresh Mediterranean-inspired design. The terrazzo floors, modern décor, and open layout give the place a bright and welcoming feel. It still has the comfort of a traditional diner, but with a cleaner, more updated style that makes it stand out.

The food was even better than I expected. Everything tasted fresh and made with real attention to detail. I ordered a tuna melt along with two eggs and sausage, and both dishes were delicious. The tuna melt had a great balance of flavors with perfectly toasted bread and melted cheese, and it didn’t taste overly heavy. The eggs were cooked just right, and the sausage had good seasoning without being overly oily. It all felt like genuine, homemade diner food with a slightly elevated touch.

Typical diner food and service, we stop breakfest and it hit the spot. Restaurant was clean and staff was pleasant. Would stop here again.

Prior to arriving at the Blue Swan, I called regarding the soup of the day. My call was answered politely and promptly, with varieties of clam chowder to French onion! Upon arriving we were greeted and seated with cold glasses of water. The menu was diverse, descriptive, and the daily specials were too good to pass. We each had a cup of their chicken and rice soup, with a delicious red broth. The cheesesteak was large enough to share paired with a pickle and a sweet sauerkraut. Our meal was completed with a rice pudding, generously topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. An exceptional treat to end our meal. The service was exceptional. Our server Taylor was helpful and attentive. Most importantly her kindness was not left unseen, and we truly need more compassionate people like Taylor. She was the highlight of our Blue Swan experience. We had a far drive back home, and left with our tummies full and a smile on our face. I’d definitely make the trip to the Blue Swan again!

Love this diner! Their wraps are really good and they even offer gluten-free options, which is a huge plus. We always get the sweet potato fries — they’re delicious! The service is consistently great and everyone is friendly and attentive. Definitely one of our go-to spots!

I have quickly realized that you can’t go wrong with any diner in NJ. Stopped in here after working all day restoring power and was very impressed with the Chicken Parm dinner. They also have a great pie selection along with a very big menu to choose from.

French toast was not french toast. Barely a hint of egg in it. See pics. It was treated like regular toast. Sausage was rubbery. Bacon was thin as thin can be. You can just tell they are trying to save $. You can tell by the crowd that they are suffering (9am Tuesday). Then they shorted me $5 change at the register. I caught it.

This classic New Jersey diner is everything a diner should be and more. It’s amazing to see a true diner still thriving, with that timeless chrome and coffee vibe and a menu that feels endless in the best way possible. Whether you’re craving breakfast late at night, a triple club sandwich, or a full comfort-food dinner, they have it—and they do it well. The service is fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, the kind where you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Portions are generous, food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is pure New Jersey nostalgia. This place proves why diners are such a staple here and why this one continues to stand out.

Went on an October Saturday with family to Blue Swan and had a good time. The place is right on route 35 and pretty quick to get to, and with decent parking too. We were immediately seated and given water to start with while we looked at the menus. Once we ordered, with me ordering a Veggie Benedict with excellent hollandaise sauce, it took maybe 5ish minutes for us to be served around 11am on a Saturday, while there was a decent number of seats already taken up by other customers. There are some issues with the place though, if you’re vegan, you might want to stay away because there are very few vegan options here, probably due to the place being decently old but you can’t really fault the place.

We got a burger with cheddar cheese and Applewood-smoked-bacon-onion-jam, which was amazing.

I personally ordered the chicken parm garlic bread panini. I dont usually like chicken parm. This was over the top delicious. I can’t do it justice. Please go try it and then comment on my post! Tell me I’m wrong…. I dare you!

I really enjoyed my dinner at the Blue Swan Diner.

I was not a regular….first timer actually.

My food was very good…

The waiter was quiet…professional…and offered the right balance of leaving is alone and taking care of us when needed.

The bean soup was really good…but there was no blue swan on the menu.

No trumpeter swans either.

From what I understand, swans are gamey and not very tender or tasty.

I wouldn’t know…I never had swan and probaly never will.

Chicken….yes.

Turkey…yes.

Duck…I’m not sure

Again it is a good diner…but there is no swan at the Blue Swan.
