Nice views from the outside patio. Server was very attendant. Appetizers were very good. Entrees were average. Bone in pork chop was excellent. With limited choices for restaurants in this area, Blue Stem is a good choice. Prices are very reasonable. Got out with $70 tab which included Appetizers, entree, dessert and beer.

Atmosphere, service and outdoor view is great but the food is awful and extremely overpriced. I ordered a $36 10oz Ribeye medium and it came out paper thin, cooked well done and had no seasoning or flavor. The risotto was dry and gross. My daughter and husband also had terrible food. $25 Cod was cold and bland. We spent over $125 dollars on three meals and we didn’t even finish half of it. This place should be ashamed to be serving such terrible food for the outrageous prices. If you don’t know how to cook a steak properly just take it off the menu. Stop pretending to be fine dining when you are serving poor quality food. We won’t be back.

When people say hidden gem about places they have visited, this place is a beautiful hidden gem. It’s not so much hidden as it is a gem! It sits on top of a hill so the view from your seat while you’re eating or just having a few of their speciality cocktails on the patio you’re in for a real treat. Bluestem is a must-visit destination that transcends the usual “golf course restaurant” label. Situated atop the highest point in Kalamazoo County—the magnificent Stoatin Brae course—this venue offers a dining experience defined by its stunning, expansive panoramic views and its surprisingly high-quality, elevated cuisine. The Star Attraction: The View The first thing you notice is the location. The large, modern clubhouse is primarily built of glass and stone, ensuring that almost every seat offers a spectacular vista of the windswept, links-style golf course and the rolling countryside beyond. We recommend reserving a spot on the outdoor patio where you can enjoy a cocktail next to the chic fire pit. It is the perfect spot for watching the sun set over the distant treeline—a genuinely peaceful and romantic setting. The Cuisine: Elevated and Thoughtful The menu is a fresh take on Modern American Cuisine. It is not overly complex, but executed with polish and flair. They feature hearty options alongside lighter, seasonal fare, ensuring everyone in your party finds something to love. Standout Appetizer: The Shrimp Cakes were crisp, savory, and an excellent counterpoint to the fresh seasonal flavors in the main dishes. The Entrées: We enjoyed both the Grilled Salmon and a signature Steak dish. Both perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service is impeccable: attentive, professional, and extremely friendly —hitting the perfect balance between casual resort charm and fine dining expertise. Whether you’ve just finished 18 holes or dressed up for a special occasion, you’ll feel equally welcomed. Bluestem is a destination restaurant. It delivers a world-class atmosphere and backs it up with delicious, thoughtfully prepared food. It’s the perfect spot for an unforgettable evening and easily one of the premier dining experiences.

I have no idea why people are raving about this place.

We had a reservation for 8 after golf on a Friday around 7pm. They didn’t have a table for us so we packed into high tops in the tiny bar area. They were out of their house wine and one of the primary menu items already on a Friday. What???
Salmon was terrible, small portions and overcooked. No one in our party thought it was worth the money. Will not visit again.

Staff was very nice but could tell they were stressed and prob like almost every place these days, owners too cheap to pay people and/or people don’t want to work their butts off for less than min. wage hoping people tip.

This is seriously one of the best hidden gems in the area. I am at an impass because on one hand we are often the only ones in there, like its our own cooking staff, but on the other hand it can’t be sustainable for the business. They have had the best burgers and food between battle creek and Kalamazoo. Please please help keep this place afloat, each lunch and dinner here when you can. For the price and quality it simply can’t be beat.

Four of us gathered to celebrate a birthday. We sat outside and it was very comfortable with a beautiful and unique view for the area. The chaututeri board was a disappointment with two different aged meats, three different small diced cheeses that could have come from Meijer, and a handful of crackers. No crusty bread, honey or Dijon. No cabochons, no candied walnuts or fruit. The whitefish (cod) was small and nothing special. The risotto was an ice cream scoop of cold risotto and a few very large asparagus spears. One person’s sirloin and another’s salmon was ok. They were out of cheesecake for dessert and only had about a tablespoon of chocolate syrup left to accompany the cannolli that didn’t resemble anything I’ve had before and not in a good way. The drinking water had a strange and not so good taste. This place could be amazing with better food.

Went to a wedding over the weekend here and it was a beautiful view but that was the best part of it. The cramped seating made it almost impossible to move. The rest rooms, although clean, were in a trailer out back. The staff seemed stressed and the manager was down right rude and threatened to shut down the reception and kick everyone out no less than 3 times over petty issues. The bar was limited and way over priced. If you are celebrating and wanting to do a shot for a toast, forget about it, they won’t sell you a shot(mixed drinks only). If you are considering this place for your wedding reception, I would pass on this and keep looking
